This hotel is the worst hotel I have stayed in. No way is it 3 star! the place is so old its falling apart. the room was awful. the food is so bad. just cant explain in words how bad this hotel is. Just look at most the other reviews to see im not the only one who thinks its bad! your mad if you think this hotel is good! the car park is about as big as a bus stop and can fit 6 cars max!

“Great value”

Best Western Brighton Hotel

16 Feb 2008

Really pleased with this hotel. Staff were really helpful and friendly. We had a great 'sea view' room which, for the money we paid, was brilliant. This is not a modern hotel but it has character. Breakfast is good. Great location for Brighton. On the sea front and walking distance to everything.

In terms of value for money (£79 including breakfast for a superior/sea view double-one weekend night) it was well worth it.

This hotel is a really bad place to stay.
the car park is so small, only the end 4 cars are able to get out the car park!!!
to go to your room you have to go up some narrow cranky old stairs with very low ceilings. The room we had was on the second floor and our door to our room had a massive gap at the bottom (as if the hotel had cut the door to fit...or not!!)
The bedroom was very basic and the bathroom was so small you could not move. you would have to sit on the toilet sideways because of lack of room. the basin was very small and the pedistal was not even attatched to the basin. it was just placed against it. The bed was comfortable but that was about it.
breakfast...even worse...the full english consisted of a black sausage,5 beans,2 baby mushrooms and a bit of bacon. My jaw dropped when the waitress bought a huge plate out with such small amount of food on it. We found the staff to be fairly helpful and willing to help with any matter.

“Why the bad press??”

Best Western Brighton Hotel

6 Jan 2008

Me and my 3 friends stayed here as a cheap one night stay to go out on the town in brighton for my friends b day.

There is limited parking on site which they say they charge for but we were not charged!- very pleased with that. If you cant park there then there is parking close by and taxis along the strip are cheap £3 from the hotel to the peir - the weather was crap and windy.

The hotel is clean and welcoming and easy to check in with the option of a take away breakfast in the morning or the standard free breakfast in the morning which consists of cold ham, cheeses, toast, cereal, fruits and drinks.

They can supply cooked breakfasts, but these are very over priced! - for the usual, bean, mushrooms, one sausage, tomato, bacon and an egg cost my friend £9! So its best to stick to the free morning breakfast they supply.

We had 2 rooms on the third floor, our room was basic and clean with extra pillow supplied.

There was a wardrobe, tv, free coffee and biscuits, phone and clock and the ensuite was clean with a shower, heated towel rack and clean towels.

My friends room was larger, lots of room, clean, similar to ours with the exception of more space and a bath/shower combo.

The only down side is you can hear people coming and going in the morning and im sure if you have people for a night out, you can hear them coming up the stairs.

But you cant fault the rooms, they were clean, comfortable and suited our needs!

Check out is 11am and you can check out later but at an expensive £10 per hour!!!

Location is great, close to all aminities and would go back again and reccamend to friends!

“Avoid like the plague - a park bench is better.”

Best Western Brighton Hotel

28 Dec 2007

Just after the holidays I thought it would be nice to book a nice hotel on the sea front at Brighton for myself and my partner. The room was advertised, correctly, as being a large room with a view directly over the sea.

The room, in terms of its aspect, was perfect - looking straight out to sea, which was lovely. The problems however were as follows:

- Room was not ready by check in time of 2pm.
- No key was EVER given to us through our stay - we had to ask staff for access to our room.
- When we checked in we were allowed to put our bags in our room-to-be but when we returned with staff member to gain access found that the room had been left unlocked.
- The room was very shabby - 10 years plus past its use by date and in dire need of refurbishment and new furnishings. Dire need, I am being serious here.
- The elevator was not working (we were on the 3rd level up from ground).
- The staff struggled with basic English.
- The room smelled funky.

Apart from the above, our stay was perfect. Do not stay at this hotel. It is truly terrible.
