I stayed with my 13 year old daughter in the Judy Garland room. The double bed was really comfy (even though I was sharing it with a fidgety teenager), the pillows were rather hard but they weren't paper thin like in many hotels and we had 2 each. The room was a comfortable temperature all night and the heavy curtains kept the light out until we were ready to wake up - which meant we nearly missed breakfast despite it continuing until 9.15! Brighton is a busy town so there was some traffic noise outside but there was no noise from rowdy people either inside or outside the hotel.
The ensuite shower room is tucked into a large walk-in-wardrobe style closet with sliding doors, plenty of room, very clean, nice towels, pleasant enough shower, toiletries, well lit, shaving point if needed, my only suggestion would be a lock on the door for privacy.
The sea is at the bottom of the road, the pier is about 5 mins walk, Brighton centre is about a 10 minute walk, there are a number of pubs and restaurants in Kemp Town plus a large Somerfield round the corner (for toiletries or drinks). There is a fridge in the room, handy for said drinks or some extra milk for the tea and coffee provided if, like me, you're not keen on the pots of UHT stuff.
Mark and Eamon were very welcoming. The car park vouchers available from the hotel at £5 per day were very useful, we just abandoned the car and walked to and from the town centre. All in all a very clean and comfortable hotel/B+B which, at £69 for a double room, seemed pretty good value for Brighton.
