Stayed at Leona house at a recent conference in April 2007 and the room itself was lovely. Expensive duvet, furnishings etc but it lacked in cleanliness. The bathroom was tiny and no way could you bend over to shave your legs in the cubicle!
The owners were somewhat scary in their manner and they both wore the same clothes for 3 days! Off putting too when the wife has long flowing afro caribbean hair when cooking breakfast.
The curtains in the well decorated dinning room were stained and the room looked like it hadn't been swept and wiped for months.
They were accommodating and friendly enough but an uneasy place of rest nonetheless.
Felt like I should get the bleach and duster out. Wouldn't stay there again.
My boyfriend and I had a fantastic weekend in Brighton, which was helped by staying at Leona House. The location was fantatsic - central to everything! The owners were very welcoming and extremely helpful in telling us about the events going on and where places of interest are.
The cooked breakfast was delicious and we even got an extra sausage!! (It was a mistake so any one visiting don't ask for 2!)
I will definately be visitng Brighton and Leona House again.
Thank you Paul and Hazel x x

Not quite as glam as the pics on their website would suggest, but a decent B&B nevertheless. We paid £90 per night for a twin en suite and were very pleased overall. The room was a decent size with 1 single bed and 1 double bed (both very comfy) - there were fluffy pillows and bathrobes as promised but alas, no mineral water. Everything was clean, the bathroom was a little small but okay.
Our room was on the top floor so we didn't hear a great deal of noise from the street.
The breakfast was very nice (good veggie option, but no continental option) although if you are staying longer than one night make sure you specify what time you require breakfast for each morning. We had a 9am breakfast on the first morning and they presumed we'd turn up the same time the next morning. Infact we had decided to turn up for the 10am sitting instead, so there was a bit of confusion. Easily sorted out though and we didn't have to wait too long for our food.
The location was brilliant, very central and close to the seafront and the Lanes.
All in all, I liked Leona House and would stay there again. It's unpretentious, unlike some of the "boutique" hotels you tend to find in Brighton which are essentially glorified B&Bs!
Small tip: phone the B&B if you want to book a room, don't email. They took ages to reply!!!

We stayed at this hotel last weekend and loved the place. The owners were really friendly and welcoming, the bedrooms were extremely comfortable and clean, the decor was tasteful and much attention was paid to detail. Greatly enjoyed the cooked breakfast each morning! The hotel is in a brilliant position a stone's throw from the sea and minutes from the Lanes and the excellent pubs of Brighton. We had a fantastic weekend and will definitely be returning soon!
