A group of 12 of us recently stayed here for a friends Hen weekend. Finding good value hen weekend accomodation in Brighton is difficult, however we struck gold with the Avalon.

The owners , Brian & Tom, were friendly and most accomodating to our varying requests. The rooms were clean and well decorated and contained everything that was required for a weekend stay. Parking permits were ready on arrival and taxis were ordered on request. The breakfast was fab, cooked to order and plenty of it.

The location was perfect a short 5 minute stroll to the beach front and 10 minutes into town and the pier.

I'd definately recommend the Avalon to anyone looking to visit Brighton on a low budget.

“Brilliant Stay”

Avalon Guest Accommodation

Our stay at Avalon was really nice and relaxing. We wanted to get away from London and Uni, and the trip didn't disappoint. Brian and Tom are wonderful hosts and not only made us feel very welcome, but were also helpul (and professional!). The breakfast was lovely and filling, the room was great too! Honey (our dog) loved it there, it was great that she was welcome there. We will definitely stay there again...

Avalon Guest Accommodation

Myself, hubby and daughter Jess, only had the one night with Brian and Tom, which was a real shame. We were in Brighton to see Bill Bailey, and it was a mid week gig, so therefore not able to take more time sight seeing, BIll Bailey is Jess's hero, and he was fantastic.

I spent several hours looking at hotel web sites, but there was something about the Avalon that made me want to keep revisiting it, and it was here we stayed.............and it was all fantastic. If you want a hotel with identical rooms, plastic waiters and staff and sub standard food.......don't go to the Avalon!!

The rooms are great, with a real individual, personal touch, lovely, comfy beds, state of the art tv/dvd equipment. When Brian showed us to our rooms, he couldn't have been more helpful or more pleasant, we took to him instantly. The breakfast is fantastic, you need to give yourself time to really enjoy it.

The location is great, so close to everything. Jess had the 4 poster room all to herself and she loved it, (although we have since found out that she shared it with a pig called Henry). The tariff is very, very competitive, we totally loved it, and will definitely be staying at the Avalon the next time we are in Brighton.

This is a wonderful B&B - everything from the room to the breakfasts was spot on, and rarely have we stayed anywhere so friendly. There was great attention to detail, such as Fair Trade drinks in the room, and the hosts made us genuinely feel at home. I would readily recommend Avalon to anyone looking for a relaxed and cheery place to stay in Brighton.

TripAdvisor is a great example of several things, the first being that you can't please all the people all the time - some of them can't be pleased ever - and that some people just love to show off how venomous they can be. You just have to take an overview of reviews sometimes and accept these facts.
(I sometimes wonder if people love a hotel so much that they give it a bad/unfair review to stop it being so busy; that way they stand more chance of getting a room!)

We've stayed at the Avalon three times this year and as we're not masochists that should tell you something. Not only that, we've just recommended it to a friend.
We found the hotel by chance and struck gold. We've stayed in three different rooms so far and have found all of them to be furnished to a high standard and well maintained.
Any little niggles we've found (and with loads of different people using the rooms these are bound to happen) have been dealt with promptly and efficiently.

The hosts are very friendly, helpful and great fun and the breakfast is simply fantastic. Brian is always willing to be very flexible with what is on offer and the whole thing is a relaxed affair.

The only down side the hotel has is one that it shares with many others in the area, the difficulty of parking. In its favour, nearly everything you could want in Brighton is in walking distance of the hotel so once you've managed to find somewhere to park go everywhere on foot!

We're looking forward to going back to this hotel as soon as we can!
