Liz and John 11.11.06

Arrived on 11.11.06 met by the concierge who introduced himself as Colin who then whisked our car away. Staff were friendly and did not seem under pressure considering the hotel was to full capacity.

Our room was a bit on the small side (a deal for £115 pp.pn bed and breakfast) so we did not expect a sea view. The leisure club is OK (but a bit on the dark side).

Breakfast was mega (fresh strawberries if you wish).

Overall it was a wonderful anniversary and would love to return to the Grand Hotel again.

I recently spent a fab weekend in Brighton staying at Millards hotel with some friends. This hotel came highly recommended and we were not disappointed !!!

Millards is a small hotel set in the heart of Kemptown and right next to the seafront so perfect location for every thing. We were welcomed by Tony, the owner, who was really helpful telling us where to park, which is a nightmare in Brighton and also showing us nice places to eat nearby.

The whole weekend was great and on my return thought I would leave a review on trip adviser which I find very useful when choosing places to stay. However was really surprised to read some very negative reviews. Was this the same hotel ????

I can only tell you my experience which was 100 percent positive.
The hotel is absolutely spotless and they do great full English breakfasts. The atmosphere is relaxed and warm and Tony goes out of his way to make you feel welcome. I looked through some previous reviews and other guests also seemed to have enjoyed this little gem.
I have no hesitation in recommending Millards for a fun, fab and friendly place to stay in Brighton. I will be back!!! Thank you to Tony too for his helpful manner and warm welcome.

Take more care than I did when booking on-line, for if you have to cancel for any reason you will forfeit the 50% deposit (which in my case was a hefty GBP114.00). The person I dealt with at the hotel - Nick, was extremely unhelpful and it was just a case of 'hard luck, that's what you agreed to', even though I was giving then two weeks notice. I was accused of being rude for stating that I thought this was appalling and the person refused to give me his surname, but looking at the website I believe he is actually one of the co-owners. I have stayed in two other UK hotels this year and looking back at their cancellation policies - one would have charged me a GBP17.00 fee and the other £20. Quite a difference from these highwaymen.t

It is a great little hotel. Very clean and excellent staff. Not cheap hotel but i would come back.
