We did not start on a good note- we were told by the reception staff that our booking, made in July, with written confirmation in front of them , did not exist - we 'must have slipped off the computer'. Then we were offered a twin instead of a double only changing to a double when we seemed determined. However on arrival at the room , we found why nobody else had it. To start there were no lights in the bathroom or over head and there followed a catalogue of damaged items.We asked the manager to come and look and within minutes we were found another double room, amazing when there had been none before!
However once this was all sorted we had a good weekend at the hotel.The staff were mostly helpful and we were with a large group who all enjoyed ourselves.
The hotel could do with a general update as the 70's seemed to fit most of the decor and the bathrooms look tired..

The Lyndhurst Park Hotel is the best in the forest, we have been going for 9 years now and the staff, food and location is absolutley superb! We spend as much time as possible there, at least a dozen times a year, that includes the Christmasand New Year packages which are great value for the money. TheManager and the Staff work very hard to achieve the excellence that this hotel offers, we look forward to our next stay there very soon.

Recently stayed at the Lyndhurst Park Hotel for 2 nights. We'd forked out a bit extra as we were going to a wedding and wanted to treat ourselves. But for the price (£120 a night for 2 people) we were incredibly disappointed.

The room was very shabby, with tired wallpaper peeling off the walls. The bathroom was shocking - it was hard to get into as there was no space between the door and the bath. It was impossible to use the shower attachment over the bath as it was attached to the top of the wall so that water sprayed in a horizontal direction over the bathroom. The tiles were cracked, the shower curtain was dirty and the whole room looked like it's in dire need of replacing.

Apart from the receptionist who was very pleasant, the staff were on the whole surly and uninterested. Those serving breakfast were disorganised and rude - several people had to ask again for tea and toast which they'd already ordered and the person serving the hot breakfast buffet couldn't have been slower or less concerned. The odd smile in response to a question wouldn't go amiss!

I would definitely not stay here again unless the place was revamped and the staff were sorted out. If you're going to Lyndhurst I would recommend you find a nice B&B - there seem to be plenty around - and save yourself a whole lot of money.

We recently had our wedding reception at the Lyndhurst Park Hotel and thought it was great!

We only had an evening reception as we actually got married in Italy. The function room was lovely (although a few areas looked a bit tired!) with doors opening out onto their lovely gardens. The buffet was great, not just my thoughts but quite a few of my guests commented on it. The choice of items for the buffet was varied and not just the old boring sandwiches, sausage rolls etc.

The staff were also very friendly and helpful!

The hotel provided the DJ who was just excellent (sorry can't remember his name). As usual at weddings there are a mixed age group but he kept everyone on the dance floor. Don't worry he didn't play the usual cheesy stuff!!!

I thought it was very good value as well. The total bill was around £1600 and that was food for 100, sparkling wine as guests arrived and wine with the buffet and also the DJ.

Although we didn't stay at the hotel quite a few of our guests did and they all liked their rooms and the proximity to the centre of Lyndhurst!!
