We recently spent two nights at this hotel for my husband's birthday. Never again! Arriving about 6.45pm, there was very little parking available. We booked in and were told no dinner was available until after 8.30.. no problem as we had intended to eat out. After a half mile trek to our room we found it to be quite nice and big, overlooking the garden, but then we discovered the bathroom! Filthy light pull that put you off to start with. Very old and tired, dirty around the shower and very uninviting. We had a good night's sleep but were disappointed not to find our newspaper delivered in the morning. A phone call sorted this quickly, however. So, off to breakfast. Pleasant surroundings with great potential, but looking rather sad. We ordered coffee, tea and toast and our breakfast. Rather sad and soggy toast arrived but we had to eventually ask again for drinks. English breakfast OK, but don't bother with the smoked haddock! After a lovely day in Lymington we returned to difficult parking and a thumping disco! Our room was above the ballroom where there was a wedding reception! Also discovered they had not left us bath towels. TV had no BBC1 channel! Quiet reading or sleeping were impossible until after midnight. Breakfast the following day was in the even sadder 'garden room'. Little choice of food this day. We were glad to leave. Not cheap accommodation and not value for money. The place has a lot of potential but we felt let down. Not to be reccommended for a relaxing leisure break.
