Stayed here overnight and was very impressed from start to finish.
The location is great for the seafront, exploring the vintage curios shops of Southsea or Portsmouth, or all the usual tourist attractions that Gunwharf or the old Dockyard have to offer.
Receptionists were friendly and helpful and my room (a standard double) was a generous size and very well appointed. They even leave a towel in the shape of a star on the bed, a nice touch to make it feel special.
The building itself is beautiful architecturally and the inside is period splendour. You can just imagine regal couples walking down the stairs arm in arm back in the day.
As I left I also noticed the red carpet on the front stairs. Again, just a nice touch to make you feel like you've stayed somewhere special.

We had decided as a couple to use up a holiday voucher we had for Xmas, we had no expectations or idea of the hotel. Had stayed regularly in Bosham an Chichester before. Hotel was great, Sea View and restaurant we amazing will be going back soon. As a result of stay will try another Best Western in Leeds very soon.

We decided to have a mini break in Portsmouth and thought we would give this hotel a try. On booking in the staff were very welcoming and helpful. Our accommodation was on the fourth floor but this wasn't a problem as there was a lift. The room was clean and very spacious, with the usual facilities (Kettle, TV, Iron, bath, shower etc) The hotel does have a private car park to the rear. This does seem a little cramped but practical if customers used the allocated spaces.

The Hotel is on Southsea seafront and overlooks the pier. Unfortunately, the pier is closed to the public and derelict (a slight eyesore). However, the gardens and Southsea Castle provide ample open space, both were a short walk along the seafront.

All in all the hotel was well run and ideally located for our needs. We would return, no problems

My mum and I were heading towards the New Forest, time was marching on, and we desperately needed somewhere to stay for the night. We took a chance on finding some accommodation towards Portsmouth and drove down to Southsea. We headed towards the seafront and were very lucky to find what seemed to be the only hotel. Luckily, it was fantastic! It was extremely well priced, we were able to have a sea view room, the Victorian room had very high ceilings and was extremely clean and spacious. Not knowing the area very well, we didn't walk far from the hotel to see if we could find somewhere for dinner. We didn't find anywhere, so begged for a table at the full restaurant. Luckily the dear wait staff and managers took pity on us and found us a table. The dining room is incredible with beautiful chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, white linen table service and a fabulous chef. Our breakfast next morning was buffet and more than adequate. Thank you everyone at Best Western Royal Beach for our surprisingly delightful and enjoyable stay.

We were visiting the Theatre in Chichester so decided to spend couple of days in the area at the same time.Thought we would try the Royal Beach Hotel at Southsea again as our first visit was first class. We were unable to get a Sea View room this time as they were full however we booked a double room at the back.No need to worry as this turned out to be a lovely quiet room with lots of space and recently re-decorated.The Staff as before were all friendly and made us feel welcome. The Bar Manager is especially welcoming and goes out of her way to talk to as many guests as she can.Thank you to the Staff once more for a relaxing break.

Room tip: Sea View is worth the extra if one is available
