Lovely hotel, staff warm, friendly and very welcoming.
Charming rooms with individual decor and all mod cons, not at all corporate.
Breakfast - good choice and excellent quality.
Would stay again (in fact going back next week!)

Our first time in Portsmouth and loved the Hotel for 2 nights. Our room was comfy, service great and breakfast fantastic. We would have lingered longer but we had to catch a ferry. Would stay again if in Portsmouth.

I arrived very late in the evening but nothing was too much bother. Lovely room and very clean facilities, just what you want to see after a long trip. Breakfast was accommodated early in order to get a prompt start to the day and breakfast is just about anything you want! After breakfast the seafront is just a short stroll away. I have already arranged a return 'less hectic' trip.

My husband and I booked a weekend at the Florence House Hotel in their superior suite at a cost of £150 per night. The week prior to our visit we discovered that they had taken payment in full from our credit card TWICE! We immediately contacted the hotel and were advised that they would look into it. Two days later I had to contact the hotel again to try and find out if they had refunded the £300 to our card, which they hadn't! The following day they contacted me to advise that they were sorry and they would make the necessary refund. We arrived at the hotel 3 days later only to find that they had only done the refund that morning, a total of 17 days later. This is obviously not the type of behaviour you would associate with a professional hotel. On our arrival we were met with a frosty, formal reception. Our room which was in Somerset House was large but the furnishings in need of replacing. The curtains were frayed and there were holes in the bed sheets. Underneath the bed we found dirty towels and pencils so the cleaner obviosly hadn't been very thorough. I booked the hotel as it looked so nice on the internet and pushed the boat out by booking the more expensive suite. We expected to feel pampered and refreshed by the time we left and the only feelings we left with were anger, upset and disappointment. On that basis we would never stay at the hotel again or recommend it to our friends and family, be warned!!!!!
