We were very keen to look inside this amazing building during our one day visit to the city but when we saw the entrance prices we hovered outside debating whether it was worth the £25.50 entrance fee for the three of us (£9.50 for adults, £6.50 for children over 5).
In the end we decided we couldn't begrudge our son the opportunity to look inside a real life cathedral, so we paid up. I was even more miffed when once inside the option of a tour was an additional £5 each!!! We just couldn't justify it and for those prices I firmly believe it should have been included.
It is without doubt a beautiful building, with interesting history and plenty to see. The only negatives would be that there was not enough signage and no staff around to ask questions (I guess that's to encourage you to pay for a tour). We spent about an hour and a half looking round, which was enough for our six year old and to be honest me as well.
Overall i'm glad we went inside but even with hindsight I felt it was expensive.
