We stayed here on a 2-night break, booked direct with the Millers Arms having seen a 2-for-1 offer on the parent Shepherd Neame website.

After a friendly welcome, we were shown to our room (Reeves) which was of a good size, very clean and with the usual tea/coffee/toiletries facilities. The room also had a side view of the cathedral, which was nice.

The pub itself is OK, nothing special but fine for an evening drink. The pub also does meals but we ate elsewhere. That said, the breakfasts each morning were fresh-cooked and excellent, with newspapers provided which was appreciated.

There is no parking but a permit can be obtained from the hotel for the car park opposite at £5 a day.

The location is very good, just 5-10 minutes walk to the town centre and the attractions, such as the cathedral.

All-in-all, we had a good stay and I would recommend the Millers to anyone, especially if you are on a travelling holiday and want somewhere as a base for a night or two in the area.

This is really central only 5 mins walk to cathedral maxand the rooms have been really well done. Staff friendly. Only issue was smokers outside making noise under my window but as the pub closes at 11 not too much of an issue. Really good value compared to other places in Canterbury

“Stay at the Millers Arms!”

We stayed at the Millers Arms on a Saturday near to Christmas. The bar area was warm and inviting on our arrival, and despite it being very busy with Christmas drinkers we waited next to no time for one of the friendly staff to sort out our check in. The room was lovely, recently decorated by the looks of it, in warm colours. The bathroom was modern and attractive with pleasant toiletries provided. There was a good variety of refreshments in the room, along with fairtrade tea and coffee there were herbal teas and very nice hot chocolate, along with good quality biscuits. The room was nice and warm during the night and the bed comfortable. The next morning we chose the full english breakfast, which was excellent - no stingyness with the portions and good ingredients used - along with as much toast, cereal and juice as we wanted. Again the service was friendly and efficient. I especially appreciated the forwarding by post of a book I had mistakenly left in our room on checking out, after I rang the pub later in the day on our way home to see if it had been found. I will definitely be staying there on my next visit to Canterbury and highly recommend it.

We stayed here for one night on our way to France, as it's a convenient stopping point on the way to the channel tunnel. The room was clean and nicely furnished and although a little on the small size it was fine for what we needed. The breakfast (served in the pub downstairs) was very good, with both the cooked and continental being good choices.

The staff were friendly staff and it's in a good location - you can easily walk to all the main tourist spots in Canbterbury.

The main downside for us was that the only convenient parking is in the pay-and-display over the road which costs £5 a day. Another minor point is that the corrdiors upstairs are quit narrow if you have bulky luggage.
