An ancient building, so plenty of steps up and down. Narrow corridors in some areas, but none the less charming. Eclectic mix of furniture, old fashioned style, crisp cotton sheets and comfortable beds. Homely. I like this hotel because I it's comfortable, not pretentious, conveniently placed, easy to reach from local travel routes (I travel by car, there is a private car park, but it's also near, but not too near, Canterbury West train station). Excellent service, good full English breakfast (tasty sausages and bacon - not those horrible tasteless, greasy things that sometimes arrive), haven't tried the pastries but they look good.
