“All was amazing”

Kent International Hotel

1 Apr 2008

Having seen some of the previous reviews i must admit i was a little worried, however the moment we checked in everything was wonderfull!!!
The receptionist was lovely and she was helpfull in everyway. The Operations manager helped us to our room with all our luggae- even some top london hotels you wouldnt find the manager doing this. There was a problem with our first room, however she room moved us and upgraded us to an executive room. Fantastic, great views and a wonderfull room.
Dinner was first class, lamb cutlets to melt in your mouth and a dessert fit for a queen. It was a plerasant surprise to have the chef come to our table and chat and he explained all about the restaurant refurb they have just had and what a wonderffull restaurant it is too.

Overall the hotel is wonderfull, pleasant location and the friendlist staff i have ever met

Just spent two nights at the Kent International hotel in Ramsgate on one of the coldest Easter weekends for years! Read the previous very mixed reviews before we went and really didn't know what to expect. Room we had was reasonably big and had been at least partly refurbished - flat screen TV comfortable bed etc we had a corner room but had views of the harbour so no complaints. But the bathroom was very tired and needed retiling. The loo handle needed to be pumped to get it to flush, for example. But that said we had a really enjoyable weekend, the staff at the hotel were really helpful and friendly and the location would be hard to beat with a good choice of bars, pubs and restaurants a couple of minutes walk around the corner. Would stay there again.

I booked this hotel on business as a colleague was staying also. After reading everyone else's reviews I was concerned it was going to be awful but what a very nice surprise I got. The room was absolutely lovely, clean, everything new, I had a view of the marina, flat screen tv, soft pillows and duvet, etc etc. and in fact id wished i had been staying an extra night. The breakfast was OK, not the best ive had but it was freshly cooked and you have a choice of how you want it. The room was fairly small, but fine for one person, and it was a single room that id booked afterall. This was my 2nd time at the hotel and I must admit it puzzled me why they would take out a swimming pool. But on my next trip to Ramsgate I will definitely be staying there again!

“Don't stay on the first floor!”

I stayed here for one night while visiting family on holiday in the area. There was a reduced rate to have a double as a single. The hotel is situated right on the harbour and I requested a sea view room and got one facing the harbour. The window was a French door which opened fully so I could sit as if on a balcony.
The room was a bit shabby (poorly repaired tiling in the bathroom; shower head was a bit crusty; wardrobe and doors scratched; places in need of painting) However bed was comfortable and had four pillows. The low point however came at bed time. On returning at 1030 I found there was live music in the bar which was very audible in my room which was directly over the bar area. if you don't like noise don't stay on the first floor!
Once the music stopped it wasn't too bad noise wise but the walls are a bit thin so you can hear people moving about. There is no air-con ( a fan was in the wardrobe) but it was too noisy to open the window while sleeping.
Breakfast was very good with a hot (full English) and cold (fruits continental meat and cheese) buffet. Toast and tea/coffe served to the table- included in my room rate.
