Booked purely on the reviews from this website (as we do often) and they are correct. Superb location and spotlessly clean. Dave & Brenda are excellent hosts and must be very proud of the reputation that their B&B is gaining. When we stayed the majority of guests there were repeat visitors and we booked there and then again for August. Highly recommended.

I wish to thank both Dave and Brenda for a very warm welcome into their beautiful hotel. the hospitality they showed us was exceptional .we stayed in the 4 poster bedroom, it was delightful with a superb view of the river.
breakfast was plentiful and great with delicious home made bread.

Overall a very relaxing break . I would not hesitate recommending the riverside if you want a small friendly hotel with character, whose hosts treat you with genuine warmth and friendliness.

Just come back from 2 nights stay. Loved the Riverside. Our room was excellent - nicely furnished, very clean and everything you needed. Breakfast is excellent - very good quality indeed. Dave and Brenda are very helpful and suggested walks, restaurants etc. We loved the location - a 5 minute walk and you are in Ambleside which was great for amenities - restaurants, cinema, live jazz etc. But the location feels more rural with the river at the front and the fells at the back. Lots of walks from the hotel - we never used our car. Will definitely go back.

If you are looking for a perfect B&B in the lakes, this is the B&B for you. From start to finish we where made to feel so very at home. On arriving we where greeted by David & Brenda and shown up to our fabulous room, complete with four poster bed and spa bath, overlooking the river to the front and the lovely garden to the side. Attention to detail at this establishment is second to none everything is supplied for your comfort, including dressing gowns, The decor is very in keeping with the lovely old house and every where is sparkling clean, the flowers in the room being a lovely touch. Breakfast certainly sets you up for the day and is cooked to perfection, complete with Brenda's home made fruit bread. All in all our stay could not be faulted and we will be certainly be back.

Just returned from a 2 day break at Riverside, the place is absolutely fantastic. Brenda and Dave are the perfect hosts, and Dylan the dog is very friendly. Dave helped us chose a lovely relaxing walk and they are both really knowledgeable to help with whatever you want to know. Nothing is too much trouble. The breakfasts are really good, especially the homemade bread, be sure to try it. We had a lovely view from our room out on to the gardens and the Fells in the distance. This was our first time in The Lakes and we will definately return to Riverside. We looked at lots of different hotels and b+b's before chosing Riverside and we certainly made the right choice.
