I can't put my finger on why I disliked this hotel so vehemently, it was just a sense of unease that made me want to leave asap. Maybe someone had died in our room, I don't know! Our first room smelt "odd", not paricularly unpleasant, just odd and gave me the creeps. The room's furnishings were standard in a Travelodge kind of way, and the bathroom looked newly fitted (although there was a p*** hair in our bath and the loo leaked at the bottom - yuk! - however they did move us to a different room without any problem). The hotel setting is in amongst lots of trees and under a mountain, so it was always dark and gloomy. Our room was in an annex which meant a wet walk to breakfast. Also it was on the ground floor which meant I didn't feel comfortable sleeping with the window open. In our second room, the hairdryer didn't work and the shower in the morning was a tepid trickle - when I pointed this out to reception they smiled knowingly and said that because a large coach party had all got up early there wouldn't be much water - hardly our fault though!! My partner said that the cooked breakfast was very good although I just felt too ill at ease to face it either day!
