I stayed here for a nice Sunday night away, even though we live quite close anyway.

As it was a Sunday we got a cheaper deal than usual, and all in all it was a very good stay.

It was very easy to find and once there just a 5 minute walk from the Town Centre (although it seemed like 30 minutes in the torrential rain!) It had it's own Car Park which was good, and the Staff were friendly on arrival. They also booked us a Table at the local Restaurant called Stampers (which was gorgeous) which gave us 10% Off too.

The room was simple, but nice. It had everything you'd need unless you planned on staying in your room all the time, and it was nice and warm.

The morning Breakfast has won an Award, and rightly so as it was nicely presented, and was yummy.

The staff were courteous throughout our stay, and I would have no doubts in recommending this Hotel.

Everything about this hotel was friendly and inviting. Because we were driving from the other side of the UK, we didn't arrive at the hotel until well after 1am. The owner was happy to wait up for us and let us in and show us around, and gave us great directions on the phone when we rang to say we were almost there.

The breakfast was amazing every morning - it was so hard to decide what to have! The room was comfortable and clean, and the complimentary toiletries were very luxurious.

I was very impressed at this hotel, especially for the price (£218 for 3 nights for double room). And everyone was very friendly. The owner even offered to post my postcard to Canada when we left. Too bad it rained the whole time we were there, but that's the Lake District for you!

Just back from a short three-night break in Ambleside and stayed at the Fisherbeck.

The staff were friendly and efficient and the breakfasts well deserved their four star rating. Our room was very acceptable, with tea and coffee making facilities, although the shower room/toilet was rather small, but adequate.

The location of the hotel is superb - five minutes from the town centre in one direction and five minutes to the lake (boasting lake-edge hotels for dining) in the other direction.

Would have no hesitation in recommending this to our friends.

This is a must in the Lakes. Wonderful family run hotel with friendly staff. We stayed in their newly opened cottage attached to the hotel ~ it was amazing, chic with all the latest gadgets and amazing views of the fells and you can nip into the hotel for a first rate breakfast. I would thoroughly recommend the Fisherbeck to anyone.
