“A Great place”

Kingswood - Ambleside

31 Mar 2007

A great peaceful b+b - very cosy, hosts very friendly and place is immaculate!!! We have stayed here 3 times and look forward to many more stays in the future (if we can get a booking). Short walk into Ambleside. We love it and the honey, made by the bees in the garden.
Try the walk from Ambleside to Grasmere - get the bus back - its wonderful!!! Have eated in a number of restaurants in Ambleside, you HAVE to book to get into a decent place especially at peak times of the year and at weekends - so plan ahead. There are some great places to eat, if a little pricey!

If you are looking for a B&B with immaculate rooms and facilities, where the breakfast and service is perfect, this is the place to stay. Ideally situated a minutes walk from the centre of Ambleside, you will go a long way to find a better place to stay.

We spent 2 nights at the Kingswood in June 2006, this was the second time we have visited Ambleside and the second time we have stayed at the Kingswood.
The Kingswood is a wonderful b&b within a 2 minutes stroll of the beautiful town centre of Ambleside.
The hosts David & Christine are a wonderful couple who will make your stay a memorable one.
They are very knowledgable of the local area and David will be only too happy to reccomend a walk for you to take.
We stayed in the 'Elterwater' room which had a wonderful bed and an excellent shower (perfect after a long days walking). It also has a set of French doors which open on to the gardens.
You can see a picture of each room on their website.
Both mornings we enjoyed a wonderful English English breakfast that was not at all greasy (as is common with English breakfasts) and if you like honey, you will be heaven. They make their own and serve it on each table!.
Overall, if you are looking for a wonderful place to stay in the beautiful town of Ambleside, you can do no better than stay here.

We had a triple room at the Kingswood Bee & Bee in early August for a few days and you would be hard pressed to find a nicer place to stay in Ambleside. It’s a small B & B with only about 4 rooms - the triple we had was superb - clean, comfortable, and with great attention to detail. The breakfast was excellent and the hosts David and Christine made us feel very welcome. It’s how all B & B’s should be run.
