We have just returned from a great stay at the Easedale Lodge in Ambleside. You can expect a very warm welcome from Bob and Margaret, Bob is always happy to point you in the right direction if you need any advice on the best places to visit and eat in the area. The rooms are pristine with great touches and breakfast is terrific, we would definately recommend you try out the Easedale we will certainly be back.

After staying at the Easedale lodge last year, there was no question of me trying one of the many other Guest houses in Ambleside, as none would beat this little gem. Set in the heart of the village, in walking distance of restaurants, pubs, the park... off street parking (valet too if Bob is on hand) the location could not be beaten. Once inside, you feel right at home, with such a warm welcome from the owner, Bob (We never met Margaret yet). You are greeted into the lounge, I love the little nick nacks which adorn the walls. The rooms are spotless and superbly furnished with little comforts that exceed most larger hotels. If you have forgotten any toiletries, worry not as there is a selection of most things in the bathroom. The breakfasts are fab, with nothing being too much trouble.

The rates are not through the roof like some places which do not come close to the service you get here. Roll on the next walking trip to the lakes, Bob we will see you again!

“extremely clean, pleasant and welcoming b and b”

Easedale Lodge

1 Jul 2008

Bob and Margaret are the welcoming hosts of this centrally located b and b. We were treated to good old fashioned country hospitality from the moment we arrived until it was regretfully time for us to leave. Margaret's cooked breakfast alone is worth staying at easedale for! The beds are extremely comfortable and the rooms and bathrooms spotless. Bob was kind enough to give us some useful on the walks around the area and good restaurants in the evening. On that note, I have to single out the Loghouse and Doi Intanon as particularly good choices. Do book if you are planning to go on the weekend. Easedale provides all you could ask for in a b and b. There is ample parking space in a private area which is great if you are taking a car. I would highly recommend easedale to anyone wishing to stay in ambleside. It is value for money and reasonably priced for a nice b and b. Can't think og any disadvantages at all except to say that it is in town itself which was great for us as we could have a pint and then a leisurely stroll back without. Having to worry about driving back but I suppose if u are looking for a place in the middle of nowhere then this wouldn't be suitable. Thanks Bob and Margaret for taking care of us so well!!

“Warm Welcome at Easedale Lodge”

Easedale Lodge

30 Jun 2008

We stayed at Easedale Lodge for two nights as part of a week long trip to the beautiful Lake District. We stayed in a non-ensuite room (but with private bathroom along the corridor). Unfortunately the room was extremely small with no real space to put down a bag/suitcase. However the room itself (and indeed entire guest house) was comfortably furnished, very clean and we had a satisfactory breakfast each morning.

What distinguishes this guest house from others is the friendly owners, especially Bob, who tries his very best to make every guest feel genuinely welcome, and offers help and advice when necessary. This was much appreciated.

P.S - if you are looking for a special evening meal out in Ambleside book a table at "Lucy's on a Plate" - fantastic!!
