We were once again delighted with our stay, Blencathra is on two floors giving you a sitting area upstairs, and the rooms are beautifully furnished. On arrival you are warmly greeted and in your room freshly homemade muffins await, on one occasion they were heart shaped with a card as it was our wedding anniversary, and the last time we stayed I had a surprise birthday cake and card, how very personal and friendly, not something you find any other B&B. There is a nice warm family feel about the place with nothing being too much trouble yet not intrusive. The first time we stayed we brought my 80 yr old dad who loved the Garden Room you have your own little courtyard garden area with table and chairs and have a “Birds eye” view of the birds, squirrels etc. It is very tranquil and a lovely spot to just sit and relax especially after a day out walking. On our last visit we brought our 18yr old Granddaughter and also stayed in this room and was delighted, already asking when she can come again. It is a place for all ages. The food is another matter!!!! Breakfast is so varied with freshly made organic Breads, flour sourced locally, always homemade muffins, homemade Jams, my favourite being the Very berry Raspberry (excellent)!! A varied selection of fresh fruits and a hot breakfast to set you up for the day. If you decide to have an evening meal you won’t be disappointed, the food is excellent. We are very thankful to Jim and Tina for all their hard work in making our stays comfortable and enjoyable and look forward to our next visit. We have recommended Lowthwaite B& B too many of our friends and family!!
