I took my daughter and family friend to the Beech Hill Hotel on Mothers Day, for afternoon tea.
The hotel is in a stunning position overlooking Lake Windermere, so we were rally looking forward to our tea.
The afternoon tea arrived on a 2 tier plate stand, and consisted of 6 finger sandwiches, egg, tuna, ham and cucumber(no smoked salmon as stated). The bread was so stale it was starting to turn up at the edges.
We complained to the member of staff, and when she eventually understood what we were saying, she took them away, and returned with another plate.
The cakes were tiny, 2 very small pieces of carrot cake, 2 tiny lemon cake and the tiniest scone I had ever seen, which were so hard you could hardly bite through them.
The caffetierre when poured was full of bits of coffee floating on the top. We again had to ask for a replacement, and were brought another which did exactly the same. By this time we just made do, and went out to look at the lake.
I realise you are paying for the view, but the standard of the afternoon tea, really does need to be addressed, as it was a big dissapointment, and such a shame for a Mothers Day treat.
