Excellent Hotel. We booked a short break here and had a wonderful, relaxing time. Great views, great surroundings and excellent staff. A very clean hotel. Room was great and so was the service. Ideal location for travelling round the lakes, Hotel is about a mile from Bowness centre. Taxi is about £2.50 into Bowness. Food at hotel is also great quality.Would recommend this hotel to everyone and we will definately stay here again.

I booked this hotel as a suprise for my now fiance as i was looking for somwhere special to get engaged.
From the intial booking phase over the phone the staff could not do enough giving me advise. This approach from the staff continued on our arrival with very freindly, helpful, professional staff who aimed to please.
The views from the hotel are amazing and enjoyed them whilst having a very delicious lunch on the terrace. I had organised for flowers, champagne and chocolates to be in the room and this was done to the surprise of my partner as she walked into our room.
There are many good walks from the hotel and the staff will assist in providing maps etc. Windermere itself is only 10 minutes walk away which is surprising as you feel in the middle of nowhere when at the hotel.
There is also a very short walk from the hotel to a small lake in the grounds called the 'TARN'. If the weather is nice this is a lovely spot to have a sit down and have a drink.
The rooms are very well decorated, maintained with everything you need from a room. We ate in the hotel restaurant and was not disappointed. We both love great food and this did not let us down and well worth it's awards.
There is building work on going at the moment to expand the hotel but this did not cause any problems for us.
If your going to stay in the lakes you have to stay at this hotel and the other views are spot on.

This hotel is really nice, just got back from staying here. If you do not drive it is a bit of a dodgy walk to town, but only takes 10 mins and a taxi will only cost £2.50.
The service is like no other hotel I have stayed in, all the staff are friendly and helpful. You can relax in the lounge after a busy day walking and play boards games or just relax.
Breakfast is lovely and a good start to the day.
The rooms are lovely and comfortable, all the home comforts you could possibly need, including DVD & CD player.

What a fantastic little hotel from the moment you arrive and see the amazing views of Lake Winderemere the stresses of a busy life simply ebb away and you feel tranquil & calm desend upon

The hotel itself is beautifully appointed one reviewer suggested the feel is a mix between Ralph Lauren & Raffles , well I could not agree more. Cream Tea is a must sat in the big comy sofas in the beautiful conservatory.

Our room was spacious and nicley furnished , bed was so comfy & bathroom although small was spot on with its Molton Brown products Oh and the lushes thickest towels ever, devine !!

We were on the Fine Dining Package, which is great value, however only one minor , we would like to have seen some simplier choices on the menu maybe perhaps a simple steak or pasta the menu is beautiful but is pure Fine dining, although I am sure if you were to request the chef to make you something simply this would not be a problem.
Finally the staff all just wonderful, the service is second to
none. You will not regret your stay at this wonderful !!!!establishment.
