We stayed at the Westbury House for two nights in September. It was rather difficult to find free parking when we arrived. The owner was friendly and helpful, the accommodation was clean and the breakfast was good and very hot.
Our room was extremely small. That’s no problem when you just go there to sleep but it was pouring with rain when we stayed there and the room wasn’t very inviting to spend a rainy afternoon in it. The TV was on top of the cupboard and you couldn’t see it very well unless you were standing on the bed. We couldn’t find the remote control. We could have asked about it of course, but as you couldn’t really see that much anyway we didn’t bother. The bed was all right but not too comfortable. The shower room was like a built in cupboard. I had read the reviews but I still hadn’t expected it to be that small. It had a sliding door because there wouldn’t have been enough room for any other door to open. The size was all right for us but it might be difficult for bigger people. The shower was great and there was plenty of hot water even though we got up rather late in the mornings.
Overall Westbury House was all right. It wasn’t wonderful but it was good value for money. A slightly larger room would have made a big difference.
