We visited Braemount House at the end of March. We contacted the owners to let them know that unfortunately we wouldn't be getting there until very late. We were worried this may be a problem but they were very accommodating and immediately solved the issue by placing a key outside for us, which made us feel much more at ease. Even though we arrived in the early hours there was a piece of chocolate cake left for us both and hot water to have a quick shower. Our room contained a lovely four poster bed with lots of extra touches which made our stay very special. We had a heated towel rail, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, cotton buds, T.V, DVD player, video player (with a collection of DVD's and videos on the first floor) , tea, coffee, hot chocolate, a teapot (being a tea drinker I know teapots make all the difference!), biscuits and accessories which reminded me of a hotel in London!
When we came down for breakfast we were instantly impressed by the friendly staff and choice of food on the menu. From crossiants (heated if you wish!) to scrambled eggs with smoked salmon, the staff had really made an effort to forfill everyones needs.
We had brochures in our room which included days out in the area for guests with or without a car and all the information about the local village and amenities. The guest house are also members of Parklands the local leisure centre which you can use at your pleasure.
Bowness and Windermere are within easy walking distance and I'd recommend the new Americanas in Bowness for dinner.
We were staying at the Guest house over Easter and even received our own easter egg in our room!
We were very impressed with the service we received whilst staying at Braemount House and will definately be recommending it to anyone wanting to spend time in the beautiful Lake District.
