We went with family and friends to Tree Top Trek a few days after the opening.
Overall, this is a great new attraction, and particularly good if, like my kids, you have children who have been desperate to do a Go-Ape course but are too young or don't meet the minimum height restriction. Good fun for adults too! There are two courses - one easier, one harder, and a great long zip wire to finish with on either course. Friendly staff and good kit. Our nine year old daughter loved every minute of it on both courses. It rained most of the time but didn't cause us any problems.
A couple of words of warning:
- the minimum age for the easy course is 5 and the harder course is 7, with no height restrictions. It's really good that the organisers let younger children on the course, but our son, who is just seven and short for his age, enjoyed the easier course but struggled with the harder one, and eventually got stuck on one of the harder elements because he couldn't reach the ropes. He then lost confidence and struggled round the rest of it with me sometimes having to push him from one thing to the next. The result was a big delay behind us (you can't overtake so go at the pace of the slowest). In the end it took us almost four hours for the whole thing. A friend's slightly older, bigger and more confident seven year old, however, loved it and had no problems.
- things were a little disorganised - probably because it was the Jubilee weekend and they had only just opened. So they ran out of harnesses because people were taking longer than expected, and the booking process was a bit chaotic. But more harnesses are on order and I expect they will sort out the logistics after a bit of experience.
