My Wife, Son and Myself stayed in a superbly decorated room for 3 nights, which was immaculately clean. The hotel swimming pool was a real treat, my son loved it; out of bed each morning for a pre-breakfast swim! Food was second to none each morning with a good selection of cereals, followed by optional cooked breakfast, tea / coffee and toast. All the staff were polite, helpful nothing was too much trouble for them. Information on local attractions in abundance. 1 minutes walk from town, so close to local shops, restaurants etc. (would definitely recommend 'Wicked' restaurant food was amazing!!). Small parking area, but room will usually be found! The owners are always there to help if you have any problems.

Stayed for two nights, a lovely friendly hotel. Room was clean and well presented. The swimming pool was an added bonus and was also very clean and relaxing. The owners were very friendly and often a bar service till around 11ish. Very happy with our stay would definely recommend to couples. Very close to all shops etc in Windermere and a short walk to Bowness.

I have just spent two nights at this wonderful small hotel. It puts larger hotels to shame with its standard of friendliness and cleanliness. The welcome we recieved was second to none, the bedroom was excellent, we stayed in one of the superior rooms. excellent choice for breakfast, and the position of the hotel is spot on, close enough to the town but no noise.

I chose this hotel following the favourable reviews on this site and the fact that it had the extra facility of an indoor pool. We were not disappointed. The hotel is in an excellent position for the town of Windermere and the hosts were very friendly and provided us with the local information we required. We were offered a very welcome glass of sherry on our arrival and our suitcase was taken to our room for us. the room was small but very comfortable(standard bedroom) and we had no problem with thin walls as mentioned by a previous reviewer. The breakfast was excellent with a good choice and the breakfast service was also first class. Our only complaint was the weather!!!!!

We enjoyed a swim in the pool on both days of our stay and would recommend the Southview Hotel for anyone visiting Windermere.
