My husband and I have just returned from a fantastic week at Southview. We stayed in a classic room which was everything we needed. Breakfast was very good with lots of choice, all freshly cooked to order.

The owners are lovely and really helpful. We stayed for my 30th birthday and my husband had a bouquet of flowers delivered to the hotel with the help of the owners.

The pool is a nice, relaxing extra, but I have to say it is a bit cold!

Southview is ideally located in a very quiet cul-de-sac within easy reach of Windermere village which has some nice shops and lovely places to eat. We would highly recommend The Lighthouse (but avoid Gibbys at all cost!).

Overall this is a fantastic little hotel. We would definately return but staying in a superior room as the shower cubicle in the classic rooms are a little on the small side!

“Perfect location to explore the Lakes!”

We stayed for two nights in a beautiful superior room. It was very clean and comfortable, overlooking the balcony.
The couple who run the hotel were lovely and very helpful without being overly friendly as can be a problem at B+B's. Lovely breakfasts.
We used the pool on both days and had it to ourselves both times.

In fact, everything was perfect. We couldn't have picked a better bed and breakast, there were lots of nice restaurants close by (The Lighthouse being a favourite) and it was a perfect break! We would love to return and would recommend it to anyone.

“B&B thatt has themed rooms and is very centrally located”

We stayed at the Southview for the first time for a couple of nights in the four poster room. It was a good size with full sized TV and exceptionally comfortable bed! Really enjoyed the stay and very friendly hosts, who have run it for a couple of years. Would stay again but in a superior room as they have a bath...very good for aches and pains after walking. Didn't use the pool but it was always free. Ran out of time otherwise would have. A very cosy B&B reasonably priced we paid £70 a night. The married couple who run it seem to be very thoughtfull with the husband doing the cooking and his wife out front.

“B&B with a splash of luxury!”

We stayed at the Southview B&B in Windermere on the recommendation of a friend, and I am glad to say that we are still friends!

The B&B is tucked away in quiet cul-de-sac in Windermere village, so you dont get any road noise but are just afew hundred yards from the centre of the Village and the many restaurants, pubs and cafes.

The Southview only has 10 bedrooms and we stayed in one of the Superior rooms which was fantasticaly furnished with quality fabrics and furniture and also had an ensuite spa bath:-)

Better still the Southview has its own heated indoor pool & jacuzzi and a southfacing patio which I imagine is great in the Summer.

because the hotel has only 10 rooms, the pool is never busy and you can always get some time in the pool on you own, by the way the management dont take bookings with children so the pool is a perfect place to relax and unwind after a days sightseeing /walking.

They only do B&B but thats not a problem as one of the best restaurant in Windermere is only 50 yards away (jambo's well worth booking)

Overall, we had great service, good breakfast, very clean room, superb romantic break and quality time on our own in the pool all at a very reasonable £180 for 2 nights.

Not sure why this hotel hasnt had a review before, but as they seem to get a lot of repeat guests, I guess they just like to keep the best to themselves!
