I stayed for two nights in April 2008 in a deluxe single (double bed) which cost a total of £86 for the stay.

I was greeted by the proprietor and immediately made to feel at home by being offered a welcome pot of tea, even before i had signed in. The hotel is wonderfully furnished with leather sofas and chairs in the lounge adjoining the reception.

The room was excellent, very comfy, spotlessly clean with a good bathroom, colour TV (with text) and various complimentary sachets of coffee, tea, water and orange juice.

Breakfast, again was excellent with plenty of things on offer to cater for all choices. There is a car park, with room for at least a dozen cars and the hotel is situated about a five to ten minute walk from the town centre.

To summarise this hotel offers great value, is clean, comfortable and most importantly welcoming and friendly.

I will definately be returning.

We stayed here for five days from April 21. The greeting was lovely tea, coffee and biscuits when we arrived in the first lounge with a roaring open fire. The second lounge is brighter with a view out to the garden. Our room was splendid with a four poster bed, nice view, soft towels and dressing gowns. Tea and Coffee supplied as well as squash and sherry.

The breakfast choice was vast and I didn't have the same thing twice, though my husband stuck to the full breakfast (and didn't need lunch all week). Our room had a tv with a dvd for early nights. Martin and Sue were wonderful hosts, chatting when you wanted, leaving you alone when you wanted to be quiet. I cannot recommed this place highly enough. If you want to eat in Bowness know that it is about half an hour each way (much easier on the way back after a drink or two). We had a great time and will go back when we next vist the Lake District.

Just returned from a two night stay at the Willowsmere. We stayed in a four poster double room which was beautiful and spotlessly clean. The whole guesthouse was immaculate and all the staff were friendly and very helpful.

The Willowsmere is just a short walk from Windermere, but a bit more of a walk to Bowness about 30minutes. The first night we ate at the Tapas bar in Bowness which was very nice (about £4 in a taxi), and the second night we ate at the Indian in Windermere which again was very nice, and extremely reasonable. Breakfast at the hotel was lovely and there was lots of choice both mornings.

We visited the leisure centre that the Willowsmere gives you free access to. The pool was a decent size and the sauna very good, but the whole leisure facility looked like it could do with a good clean.

Overall had a great stay at the Willowsmere and would definately return again.

ideally located just a short walk from windermere within well kept gardens. welcomed by a beautiful reception with constant burning fire and coffee/tea on arrival makes this such an inviting place to stay.the internal decor is of a very high standard and continues into the rooms where nothing is forgotten down to cotton buds. the entire hotel is superbly clean and of very high taste and quality. The upvc sash windows and flat screen tvs are a credit to this obviously dedicated family ,who treat their hotel as their own home. Our only disappointment was at breakfast. Whilst everything is perfectly executed and the breakfast itself is of very high quality we found this time to be less than relaxing. I hope we can be constructive by suggesting that plates arent removed from the table immediately after swallowing your last mouthful. We hope that this does not offend but if there was a little less haste guests may feel less rushed, making this the perfect place to stay in Windermere.Thank you.
