“Our weekend at the Lakes”

We only booked a few days prior to our weekend at the Hitton and we received an e-mail back confirming our booking saying we look forward to meeting you on your arrival, but the owners were not even there, we understand that they had a big family event but they knew this prior to our booking and should have given us the choice whether to book or not. We would not have booked had we have known that they would have someone standing in for them as i don't believe other people would pay as much attention to detail as the owners would (this was proven to us at breakfast on Sunday morning, without as much as an apology), We found although it was a beautiful house, and very clean the room we stayed in was quite small and a little claustraphobic and you could hear every single thing through the walls and not just from next door. We barely slept on Saturday night and left on Sunday feeling exhausted and in need of a few days away, a total waste of money ! Would we go back ? No !!!
Since getting back i have e-mailed the owners a couple of times but unfortunatly they obviously don't think that its important enough to reply to

Went to the lakes for our 1st wedding anniversary and chose the Hilton Guesthouse for 2 nights.

Rooms are beautiful, they are spacious and the bathrooms are lovely too.

The owners are really friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome.

I would definately recommend this guesthouse to anyone wanting to stay in the lakes

enjoyed our stay here.the room(5) was fine and it was a plus point that the heating was on to keep the room just right.too many hoteliers are very tight when it comes to keeping their guests warm.the breakfast was very nice and served with a smile.the main points of cleanliness and food are good so i would say go there

The location does most of the convincing. i am definitely going back. We took the children, which was fine although the hotel is not great with kids.

Me and my husband have just come back from this lovely guest house. It is very light, airy and clean the photo's dont do it justice at all. The location is excellent, it really is a 5 min walk from winderemere and 15 min down to bowness, we will defiantly be staying here again. (The only small downfall which isnt really a downfall is that you dont get any sausages or beans with your full english!?) Apart from this a perfect weekend with perfect owners!!!
