“Highlight of our England vacation”

Mylne Bridge House

We registered with Trip Advisor for the sole purpose of sharing our story of Mylne Bridge House with fellow travelers. It was the highlight of our England trip and ranks at the top of our month-long vacation in Europe. Our hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful, the food was great, and the room was spotless. For us, it was the perfect way to experience the scenery of the Lake District. Not all B&B's have been a positive experience for us, but this place was just about perfect.

Stayed at Mylne Bridge in May 2007, thoroughly enjoyed the weekend and would highly recommend it. Rooms were clean and modern with an excellent ensuite. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast each morning. Perfect location as close to Lake windermere and a short walk from the village. We would like to say a big thank you to Jim and Lorraine for making our stay such a pleasant one.

“Lovely room & very clean, great location, delicious breakfasts, & super hosts.”

Mylne Bridge House

We stayed at the Mylne Bridge House B & B in Windermere, Lakes Region, England from May 30th through June 1st, 2007. From the moment we drove up, Jim was there to greet us & help get us settled. The room was spacious, clean, and well-appointed (even with a mini refrigerator).

It is very well located- off the busy main road from Windermere to Bowness so it was relatively quiet. It's about a mile & a quarter's walk down hill to Bowness on Windermere where all the immediate activity is. Going back is all up hill.

Jim advised us to leave the car in his lot & walk to Bowness center if we were there for a long time. Then take a taxi back as it's more cost effective than to park in a public space. (If your parking time expires, the penalty fee is about L25. verses a L4 taxi rate).

The breakfasts were delicious and quite extensive offering several hot & cold choices. Lorraine makes delicious real porridge, crepe pancakes and eggs how you like them.

Jim was always available and a wealth of information from what are the best things to see & do to what restaurants we would like to answering our numerous questions on the history of GB. We shall remember fondly our political conversations too. He is truly a gentleman and a scholar.

We highly recommend Mylyn Bridge and would choose it again should we return to Windermere. Linda & Michael

We had a wonderful weekend. Mylnebridge is a lovely house with the best amenities around and excellent breakfasts with a wonderful choice which includes pancakes. A plus for us was off road parking and a fridge in the room to keep our own drinks and sandwiches. Jim and Lorraine are wonderful hosts who went out of their way to help and the Loughrigg Fell walk Jim recommended was lovely.

Good BB in a nice area. Close to town but very quiet and convient. Good parking. Breakfast was great. Room was very nice. A little more expensive than usual, maybe it was just the area. But, no complaints. Jim was very helpful and friendly.
