We stayed at the Mylne Bridge House B & B in Windermere, Lakes Region, England from May 30th through June 1st, 2007. From the moment we drove up, Jim was there to greet us & help get us settled. The room was spacious, clean, and well-appointed (even with a mini refrigerator).
It is very well located- off the busy main road from Windermere to Bowness so it was relatively quiet. It's about a mile & a quarter's walk down hill to Bowness on Windermere where all the immediate activity is. Going back is all up hill.
Jim advised us to leave the car in his lot & walk to Bowness center if we were there for a long time. Then take a taxi back as it's more cost effective than to park in a public space. (If your parking time expires, the penalty fee is about L25. verses a L4 taxi rate).
The breakfasts were delicious and quite extensive offering several hot & cold choices. Lorraine makes delicious real porridge, crepe pancakes and eggs how you like them.
Jim was always available and a wealth of information from what are the best things to see & do to what restaurants we would like to answering our numerous questions on the history of GB. We shall remember fondly our political conversations too. He is truly a gentleman and a scholar.
We highly recommend Mylyn Bridge and would choose it again should we return to Windermere. Linda & Michael
