We stayed at this hotel for three nights at the end of august 2007.When we arrived at the hotel we were very early and check in was not untill 2pm .The receptionist told us to come back after 9am and he would try to get us in early. We told him that we just wanted to park the car up and that we were going for a walk untill check in ,but he was very nice and wanted to help us check in early .We arrived at the hotel around 10am but the person we had spoken to earlier had changed shifts .so we were greeted buy a young girl who was in no way going to let us in the room early and made a point of telling us so. We were all quite tired so we decided to have a little sleep in the car untill it was time for check in .At about 1:45pm we went back to the reception and asked if it was possible to check in now .We were told" IT IS CHECK IN AT 2PM FOR A REASON"so we went and sat in the car which was parked right outside the front door and could see the reception desk.As soon as we had sat in the car we saw the girl giving people their keys.So back in the hotel we went and tried to check in even more problems they had not got the room we had booked (executive suite with sea view).so we were given two double rooms .We were told that the only reason we had been given alternative rooms was because i had a printed receipt .So if i had not had a receipt i would not have got a room.I asked if they were sea veiws my partner said yes and the receptionist never said a thing just stared .Arriving at the rooms one was a sea view above the bar room. The other room was along several landings and through two doors and had a brick wall view.We just accepted this and tried to enjoy the holiday. We were told that the internet connection was not strong enough in the rooms .We could only connect to the internet in the bar area.We decided that we wanted to stop and extra night so went to reception to try and book and executive suite. The same girl as check in was sitting there. We were told there were no executive rooms available .She did not even look on the computer to check. We got the laptop out and tried to book it via the website . It said the room was available ,so we told the receptionist what it says online .Her actual words were "IF YOU BOOK THAT ROOM YOU WILL BE DIRECTED TO ANOTHER HOTEL".We asked the receptionist for the phone number to the BIG BLUE HOTEL to see if we could get a room there. She was off hand with us and said "it's five minutes that way " ."i know where the hotel is i just wanted the phone number "i told her .We phoned the other hotel but they did not have triple rooms available .We had had enough so we asked to speak to the manager. After about 15 minutes wait, the manager arrived and was very nice and helpful .She booked us into the room we should have been given in the first place and for the extra night .We could also get the internet connection in our executive room.Apart from the girl in reception, the hotel is the best i have stayed in in blackpool. The breakfast is buffet style and has a great choice. The rooms are very clean .The bathrooms are very modern . There is only a small charge for room service so it is well worth using .Some of the carpets on the landings and stairs are a little dirty and could do with a clean. We stopped going to blackpool at one time because of the state of some of the hotels but this one is far better than any i have stayed in anywhere in the uk.The only thing that has put me off staying at this hotel in the future is the problems i had with check in .Don't stay in a room above the bar if you want a quite night ,it is very noisey and goes on till the early hours. The problems i encounted may just be a one off so don't dismiss this hotel it really is a great hotel .I usually stay in 4* hotels when abroad and the carousel is nearly as good.We parked the car up for the four days we were there and used the tram to get around. The tram costs £1.50 from the hotel (south)to the tower (north) one way .You can buy an unlimited ticket for £5.75 for one day if you want to go back and forth to the hotel.

“Sunday 5 August 2007”

We stayed at the hotel on Sunday 5 August. It was £70 for the room which is a bit more than the majority of hotels in blackpool, but I wanted to stay in a hotel which had a good record for cleanliness. Lovely room - not much of a view but we were only staying for 1 night & it was only somewhere to sleep. The room was very clean. It looked like the company had paid attention to detail & what I liked was that there was no damage to be seen to any of the furniture. Breakfast was great with a wide choice for everyone & plenty of it. Would def. recommend. It's on the quietier end of the Prom and certainly less noisy. The only downside was the fire alarm going off twice in the night but it was a false alarm & we didn't need to evacuate. In all its a good hotel for a couple of nights.

I stayed here for one evening on the 4th August with a group of 4 female friends, we stayed in a family room at the rate of £120 for one night B&B. The Hotel and the room was OK, very clean and well presented, however, the Hotel had a real ventilation problem which was obvious from when we left reception for our room. There was a window in our room which we opened and left opened from when we walked in the room but it still made no difference.

Its quiet ironic that this Hotel is part of the Sleep Well Hotel brand as sleep well we did not. There was also a wedding including an evening reception being held in the Hotel which caused soo much noise into the early hours of the morning. When we informed the hotel staff about this they just made a joke about it and said "Come again and we'll give you a fan"!. Hotel is in a great location in quiet South Shore Prom - but quiet it ain't and for how much we paid for the room, glad we only stayed the one night!

Went to Blackpool on the hop, tried booking in to various 4* hotels but they were all full, then we came across the 3* Carousel Hotel, and were pleasantly surprised, the staff were excellent friendly and helpful the rates were good, our room was spotless with a sea view.... Blackpool was very faded but the Carousel Hotel certainly wasn't

I stayed a the Carousel early last year whilst visiting Blackpool for a business meeting. I must say I was not un-satisfied and felt the hotel was generally ok.. The rooms were well appointed and clean, the food was ok as were the staff and the bar service was again, ok. I was informed at the time by a fellow guest that a new Manager had just been appointed and having returned to the hotel this year I must say, if that was the case the man is a miracle worker! The hotel has progresed from ok to five star excellence. The welcome received on arrival from Carmen the receptionist was first class, a glowing smile and personality to match. I was escorted to my room by another very helpful member of the housekeeping team and found it well appointed as before, but this time it was spotlessly clean, I could quite happily have eaten my dinner off the bathroom floor. The meals were excellent, compliments to the Chef and the bar area was a pleaseure to be in, a great atmosphere, friendly and proffesional staff, always busy but always there to help and serve. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and have done so already to colleagues, friends & family. Keep up the good work, I will definately be back again.
