We took another couple away for the weekend , so were paying for two double rooms, and hence wanted to keep the budget to £50 per room. Looking on the net a number of Blackpool hotels would fit into this budget but many looked a little 'seedy'. The Derwent looked smarter so we went for this at £42 per room.
Good points:
- Very friendly and helpful management
- Nice, recently decorated rooms
- Good location, easy walking distance from the town centre
Bad points:
- The advertised 'ample street parking' might apply mid-week in November, but on a Saturday afternoon in July, it was very difficult to find a space. Eventually we found a space three inches longer than the car and managed to get it in! Also, the street parking is restricted Mon-Sat 9-6, so you can't leave the car there during the day other than on Sunday.
- The showers had little pressure - washing shampoo out took a long long time for the girls!
