Oh my good lord. I dont really know what to say. This was by far the worst hotel or should I say hovel I have ever stayed in. We had already booked to stay at another hotel on the Bank Holiday Monday but to avoid the traffic we decided to travel to Blackpool on the Sunday night. After a 2 hour drive and arriving late evening we drove around looking for vacancies and stumbled upon the Melville. £58 for one night seemed steep but as this included breakfast we decided to give it a go. Huge mistake.
Firstly.
Dirty linen piled upon one of the beds. After a complaint was made to reception, this was removed.
Secondly
Half way through the night the bed collapsed. Further investigation found a paint tin supporting the bed. Legs were broken.
Thirdly
Drunks roaming the corridors way into the early hours of the morning. And smoking everywhere. The whole hotel smelt of tobacco.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Needless to stay, after my refund was (begrudgingly) given to me (after 3 attempts), we left without having breakfast. Oh and the breakfast area is in some sort of basement, also filled with cigerette smoke.
Vile
