Never having stayed in a B&B before (I wouldn't really call this a hotel) I was a little disappointed with the room decor. Very old fashioned with broken furniture. Damp patches on the wall, the ceiling looked like it was about to collapse and I couldn't close my curtains because the rail was broken too, which was a problem because the room faced the street. The bathroom was so tiny, the sink was in the bedroom. Watched TV for 15 minutes whilst waiting for hot water to come out of the tap. The bed was very comfortable and sheets and pillows were spotless. Unfortunately doors slam shut and no-one was monitoring those that return late - both nights I was woken at 12.30am, 1.30am and 2.35am to families screaming, laughing and running up the stairs - very difficult when you have a little one in room. By the time I checked out I was desperate to get home and have some sleep. Staff - wonderful. Service - excellent. Breakfast - delicious. Cleanliness - okay. Would I stay again? Only if they ensure guests are quiet and they repair the damage in the rooms. Shame really, because the owners do appear to care.
