“Loved it”

The Wellington

4 Aug 2008

We stayed at the wellington for my sisters hen weekend. We had a brilliant time there staff were friendly the rooms wernt as good as they look on the pictures but we didnt mind as we only wanted somewere to sleep after a night out on the lash anyway. Loved the 24 hour bar and met some of the other guests there an had a good laugh.

“absolute joke!”

The Wellington

We stayed for just one night - all girl party. Rooms as basic as they come, no towels, soap etc which we don't mind as long as they are clean. Bunk beds very dodgy, did not feel safe at all. Promised a buffet tea - did not happen. Promised breakfast next morning - did not happen. Bedding was unclean, bathroom very dirty, infact one of the girls resorted to buying a cheap pair of flipflops to wear in the shower! For £35 a night, which isn't that cheap for Blackpool, I feel we were ripped off. A group had 6 in a room at £35 each that is a lot of money this hotel received for just one room! The good thing is the bar which is open all night however drinks are very expensive - £3,50 for a vodka and coke. Your choice, but i would recommend you look elsewhere...just my opinion!

This was the fourth year i have taken my football team to the Wellington for our "end of season" trip and yet again it did not disappoint. Friendly staff - and tolerant, which is important with a group of 16 young men! - and clean rooms welcomed us as usual. Its absolutely ideal for groups of people who wish to party each day and night away, ourselves usually arriving back anytime between 4 and 7am! If you want peace and quiet sit in a graveyard, if you want life, a party atmosphere and a great hotel/location to do it from, try the Wellington!

My booking was made by a friend. Had I read the reviews beforehand I would never have considered the place. Reception has a roller shutter on it. That should sum it all up. After sending your deposit the rest of your money is requested before you get to your room. After reading the reviews I requested sight of my accommodation before paying the full cost. Thank Goodness!!!. Room was about 8 x 10ft. had a bed, chair and a shelf. Bedding was filthy and hadnt even been changed, - mascara on pillowslips, stains on the sheet together with a blackShoe Footprint. There was no sign of any chambermaids / cleaners. Receptionist refused to give her opinion of the room. All corridors were filthy. Music blasted out from the bar (which was empty) even at 11am. This hotel website in no way ties up with the accommodation on offer. I forfeited my £65 rather than stay in the place. They must make a fortune thru this. The room I was offered was a total disgrace and is resembles nothing more than a doss house !!

The reception has a roller shutter for security reasons, we check guests in from the office through to reception and we have valuable equipment in the office so we have to lock it up for obvious reasons. It is easier to get the balance from guests on arrival, as it is easier than trying to locate guests for payment all weekend. If the money is paid in full on arrival, it makes a more relaxing environment for both parties knowing that alll the money matters are sorted out. Most of the rooms we have are en-suite, with their own toilet, shower and sink and the rooms have TV'S, clothes storage, dressers, chairs, beds etc and we do not advertise any different. We only open weekends and cater for mainly group bookings so we provide everything that is necessary for a 2 or 3 night stay. If towels, tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryers or ironing facilities are required, we will provide the guest with these on request with no extra charge. We do not have chambermaids as stated previously, we only cater for 2 or 3 night stays, however, if the rooms are not up to satisfactory standards for any reason, we will do our best to resolve the matter as soon as possible. We do apologise for the dirty linen, we have resolved this matter by changing our laundry supplier. We do have music in the bar for 24 hours, however we have different playlists and volumes appropriate for different hours of the day.

My friends and I, 12 of us in all went there Oct 2007. We go to blackpool every year and never quite found the right accom until now. I read the reviews and was a little worried some loved it and some hated it, almost like two different hotels. When we arrived lady on reception friendly, rooms good and clean like on internet. We stayed on 1st floor and still able to sleep. Bar staff really friendly too, managed to have buffet just so happened we returned from our afternoon outing as it was being served. Didn't have breakfast but we usually ended up missing it anyway and cafe just up road. We have stayed in hotel £50 a night that were much worst than here. Would definately book again. A great Blackpool Party Hotel.
