Considering that the hotel has only just reopened after being closed since May 2007 I'm not sure where the last poster stayed but it couldn't have been at Sparkles on Station Rd

I had a great experience on a pre opening weekend. The hotel has been totally refurbished and is now a boutique style with gorgeous bathrooms, private lounges and a relaxed atmosphere.

I would certainly return for business or pleasure, and wish the owners all the best with their new venture and look forward to seeing their new website.

Having read about Sparkles in the national press, and needing to visit Blackpool to see relatives and having two children - Sparkles seemed the obvious choice.

We stayed in the Dalmation/Cruella suite and it was truely shocking. Peeling paint, holes in the wall, just shabby. The children did not want to dress up in the costumes - they smelt. They did not want to play in the den, it looked awful.

Breakfast was mediocre. Mrs Sparkles was way over the top - and scarily so.

I would not return. Ever.

What can Isay my 6 year old daughter loved Mrs Sparkles and for the first time ever actually asked to go in the shower in the morning ready for Mrs Sparles to collect her and take her to breakfast fun!. There are lots of welcome touches in the room crisps, fruit, books, games and dressing up clothes and thsi is what makes this place different.

We will definitely come back sooner rather than later if my daughter has anything to do with it.

We (2 Adults 2 kids age 10 and 3) stayed at sparkles for just Saturday night - we all wished we were booked in for longer. Mrs Sparkle was lovely right from the minute we arrived - welcoming us at the door and making us feel right at home.

The kids thought this hotel was magical and Mrs Spakle was a real hit! We stayed in the Narnia room and thought it was FAB!!!

Our kids loved dressing up and putting on a show for us in the evening and they thought they were very grown up going down for breakfast on their own!!!

Mrs Sparkle has put a lot of time, energy and imagination into this child friendly, magical (slightly wacky!) hotel - and she should be proud of her achievements - we all loved the hotel and her and we will definately be back soon!
