from arriving we were imformed there was no bar, one of the main reasons we booked, there was no radiator in my mothers room who is 79, we were told there was parking, but they had a coach parked on the car park limiting parking, on returning from town a member of staffs car obtructed getting back on to park, by this time with being stuck in the room all night because of bad weather and no bar, i decided to cut my loses and find other accomodation on telling the owner that of my intentions he imfomed me that he was goig to ask us to leave this after only just meeting him that morning. i lost £90 plus i had to pay the next hotel. no this hotel is all front and cold breafast i woud not recommend it .

We feel that we need to respond to the gentlemans review to set the record straight as we feel it is a very misleading review. All our other reviews have been first class and speak for themselves and are very much appreciated.
The first thing the gentleman ask on arrival before booking in was the bar open. He was told it would not be open due to all the guests going out for the evening but if required it could be opened.
As for no radiator in his mothers room which was a single room, the room is heated by a large central heating pipe which runs around the room and if anyone require's extra heat we have portable heaters on request. But as the gentleman didn't ask for any he didn't recieve any.
There was ample parking for four cars as well as the mini caoch that was here but the gentleman parked in the middle of the remaining space and so no one else could park their car.
When I went to his room to ask if he could park the car in a better possition so others could park all I got was oh! from his wife.
An hour later his wife and his mother came down to go out and was asked if he was coming to move his car, but was told he is ill in bed.
So I said if you get me the Keys I'll park it up properly for you. I was just simple told he does not like anyone touching his car.
With that we had to leave it taking up all the remaining space.
In the morning my business partner said good morning to the gentleman who just grunted and complained that the bar had not been open in the evening, but if the gentleman was ill in bed like his wife said he was he wouldn't have needed the bar.
And when my partner asked if the ladies were on their way down for breakfast he said what is it to do with you.
By this time I thought he might complain that his breakfast was cold so I made sure it was piping red hot and sure enough he has said it was cold but not directly to us.
He then asked other guests if they had parked up at the back of him stopping him getting out, but they all replied that they had not and one guest said he's had to park else where because of his car paked in the middle of the car park. And when the coach driver said his was the coach the gentleman said why didn't you park that thing round the corner.
When we checked to see who had parked at the back of him there was no car blocking him in and there never had been as no one could park up due to his car being in the way.
The gentleman later went out in his car and in the mean time our cleaner had come and parked in the car park leaving enough room for others to park but on the gentlemans return he complained about not being able to park up again and did nothing but moan. While he had been out our cleaner had called me to the gentlemans room and showed me evidence of them smoking in the room. Our hotel is a total no smoking establishment and there is enough signs in rooms and around the place saying so.
On his way to his room the gentleman ran into my business partner and complained about not being able to park up and said he was thinking of going else where and said you can keep the money. With that my partner said please do leave as we don't won't people who upset our guests and smoke in their rooms when they know it is a fire risk and against the law.
We would not have refunded any of his money on pincipal due to having to deep clean the room and change the curtains, bed spread, etc with them smelling of cigerettes and cigar smoke.
As for the hotel being all front and cold breakfast I will leave others to judge and make up their minds now they know the other side of the story.

“Great Hotel - very nicely decorated. Spotless. Very good value!”

North Grange Hotel

14 Jan 2008

I stayed here for one night. I needed a room big enough for me, my son and my daughter in a travel cot. "No problem", I was informed, "you can have the family room". I got a single room, and a double room, joined together via a batroom. All this for £35!

The rooms were decorated very well and everything was spotless.

Although I think we were perhaps the only guests on a dank rainy January weekend, the breakfast table was groaning with goodies in the morning. Trying to feed the kids, and the post-Xmas flab, meant that I missed the cooked breakfast, but if the cold buffet was anything to go by, I'm sure it would have been great.

Give the large number of hotels in Blackpool, it's very hard to find sowmewhere reliable, but I'd have no hesitation at all in recommending the North Grange.

Very friendly hosts couldn't do enough for us. Enjoyed the breakfasts and have got to say I was shocked to find the hotel so spick and span this late in the Blackpool season! Very reasonable rates! Will have no hesitation in recommending North Grange Hotel to family and friends and look forward to staying there again!

Thanks again! Phil, Julie and Lauren

“A Jewel in the Crown!”

First class. Great attention to detail, the hotel is welcoming (as are the hosts), with a traditional but chic decor. The rooms are well planned and decorated with good quality furnishings, with a small but adequate bathroom. The breakfast excellent with plenty of choice. Cleaniness is of the highest value. This is a hotel for the discerning!
