We didn't really get the chance to view the reserve at all, and didn't enter the bit you needed to pay an entry fee for, but our 3 year old had the time of his life at the Little Darters Wildlife Adventure Play area.
We were lucky that the weather was fabulous, and the place was quiet (mid-week, pre Easter hols), but our son would probably been happy playing there all day. The interactive water play area was a huge hit. Kids have to pump the water themselves which pours into a series of trays - different ones depending on whether you stop-up holes or pull out plugs. There are a series of trays which eventually lead down and down to a sort of waterfall where I guess the water gets pumped back up again. There was also a really good climbing/viewing area that led you on rope bridges over the lake - that one required a bit of adult supervision as my 3 year old wasn't quite big enough to climb the ladders alone. There was also a good sandpit area too.
There was an OK cafe there - it was a bit pricey, but an outside seat in the sun made up for that!
Plenty of parking here - shame you had to pay for that (there's no other way of getting there) - but overally it was well worth it.
