“An enjoyable weekend”

We stayed for three nights, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. All staff very efficient and professional. Excellent central location near the Minster and restaurants (but don't try the the nearby Indian restaurant - staff morose and waited an hour for main course). Breakfast Friday and Saturday was self serve and items mainly cold, Sunday to order and excellent.. Did not have evenng meal in hote so no comment on this. But overall a very enjoyable experience at a good price.

“Ok for one night”

We stayed at this hotel for one night as we were going to see the Waddington Air Show the following day.

The hotel is in a lovely location, opposite the Cathedral. As you walk into the lobby, it looks very modern and contemporary. The actual entrance is up some stairs and I could not see an obvious ramp for people that need wheelchairs, so call them before you book to check.

We checked in with no problems and went to up our room. The room had a balcony and did not overlook the Cathedral as we did not want to pay £10 for the privelege. Our room overlooked a new house being built and when we went out onto the balcony the bulders were right there opposite, maybe 3 or 4 metres away, hammering and sawing. I wasnt too pleased about this as the builders could see right into the room. I went back down to reception and they were very helpful and changed our room.

The next room had no balcony and overlooked the 'garden' which was more like a long and thin courtyard with a bit of grass. The rooms were very clean, however the decor is really bad!! The corridor seemed newly furnished as did the rooms but whoever designed them needs sacking!! The room had flat screen tvs, internet access which we didnt use and tea and coffee stuff too.

Breakfast had a good selection of fruit, cereals, continental and english breakfasts and was a self serve buffet.

Overall the hotel was ok. It had a very confused vibe going on with the modern lobby, bar and restaurant and the 60s style rooms!! I probably wouldnt stay here again.

“A little over priced but a pleasant enough stay”

Lincoln Hotel

20 Jun 2008

As the reviews here are mixed, I thought it was worth trying a 2 night stay.
Easy to find, large car park at the back, free for guests. Hotel receptionist efficient, but, did not go out of her way to make a particularly welcoming - welcome !
We had room 212, double facing the Cathedral. I had read the reports about "the bells", but, as I intended having a few beers each night to relax, I thought that I would be OK.
Very pleased with the room indeed. Based on other reports here, they must have old and newly refurbished rooms. We must have had the latter. Clean, tidy, large, well lit room. Very impressive shower room. Tea/coffee/hot chocolate, biscuits and a large bottle of water.
Double bed very comfortable. I could not get the air conditioning to work, but, that was probably down to the beer.
Not sure if they turn off the bells overnight, but, I did not hear them until 7am. The bells and the traffic noise was enough to wake me at 7am. Fine as I needed to be up for work. I can appreciate if you are on holiday and want a quiet lie in, you are not going to get one,
Sunday morning breakfast, English cooked to order, cereals, fruit, juices, toast and pastries. Tea and some of the best filter coffee I have had for ages.
Monday breakfast same, but, buffet English help yourself - well happy with that.
Work was paying, but, if it was my money £87 a night a little over priced I think. Judging by how few guests there were around on both days, I think others must think the same. £67 a night would be more realistic.
Would I go back ? sure would and am in fact in a few weeks - work paying again :O)

“Lush food at The Lincoln”

London, United Kingdom

We initially chose The Lincoln as we thought their rates were extremely reasonable; it was our friends wedding and we thought we would make a weekend of it. The building is very 60's and does look a little bizarre when you first arrive but the interior is very 21st century and was a pleasant surprise for this 'post house look a like building'. The rooms are comfortable, light and airy and the interior was up to standard , you do get your moneys worth. The food and staff were remarkable and turned our stay into a joyous occasion. Next time we are up in Lincoln we will most definitely dine at The Lincoln even if we do not stay there as the food and staff are worth the visit.

“Premier location, mediocre rooms”

Lincoln Hotel

Glasgow, United Kingdom

Located in probably the most interesting part of Lincoln, this sixties style hotel has commanding views of the cathedral, and is just minutes from the heart of historic Lincoln.

If the weather permits, you can take tea or something stronger in the hotel garden. In inclement weather, then the hotel lounge is spacious and comfortable. Similarly, the rooms are clean and spacious.

However do not look to closely. The views to the back of the hotel are a depressing conglomeration of poorly repaired masonry and shabbiness. Unfortunately, this is the same for the rooms and the rest of the hotel. Its location, space and cleanliness is spoiled by worn out furniture, mildew on the steel window frames and tired and dull furniture.

On the positive side, the staff are friendly, efficient and charming. Combine this with a superb location in a beautiful city and the ‘sad’ rooms can be forgiven.
