I am an ex-pat who comes to UK four times a year and I stay at the Bentley frequently. It has a good position, with access to Lincoln in 10 mins or so depending when and how you go, and also easy access to M-ways etc. Carpark is free and hassel free as you would expect from an out of town location. Rooms are nicely kept, cleaning staff friendly as are night people (good for me as I work late). OK bar has no atmosphere - I usually dart in there for a quick one or a take out. Never eaten in the dining room (good curry houses near by), but had a plate of chips once and came with dressing and all the extras - was fine. Never, used all the fitness stuff but looks good. All generally good but two cons; WiFi is rubbish, they always blame it on the weather or say it has 'been playing up' etc - but it is not true - it simply doesn't have the range. They do posess at least one plug in range extender which allowed me to use WiFi, but I only got this after some negotiation. I wish they would sort that out. Second con is that as a smoker, I only stay in hotels which allow smoking and it is impossible to guarantee that you will be allocated a smoking room online or in advance. I have for example asked for a smoking room in the past in the 'notes' part of the online booking form only to be told when I arrived late at night that the room is non-smoking. I went elsewhere (there are quite a few hotels within a couple of mins. driving) but I learnt not to book the Bentley in advance but book somewhere else - then ring the Bentley on the day and if they guarantee a smoking room - cancel the other booking. But sometimes, I simply don't bother and end up staying somewhere else.
If they would sort out these two problems I would give them an above average rating and they would get more bookings as a good standard road tavern. As it is they are always second choice.
