Stayed here for one night in order to visit the Cathedral. Upon arriving we had to wait for the girl to appear from I think downstairs. Our room was right at the top of this large old house with I think two flights of stairs which was tiring with suitcases but what can they do? Lifts are very expensive.

Our room was clean if in need of a little updating a bit chinzy like another review has said. We went out for our meal but had a relaxing drink in the bar/conservatory area, unfortunately it was raining so we couldn’t see the garden, which looked very nice.

Breakfast was good although the girl did bring the wrong drink, it was busy however.

All in all good, if I went to Lincoln again I'd probably look for somewhere else.

Very quiet hotel a short walk uphill to the Cathedral. Room 10 (£95 B&B) with canopy bed is very spacious with a good view but a bit chintzy. Breakfast is very good in a conservatory with a good view. Staff very helpful and friendly. Pleasant small bar. Would stay again.

“Wonderful hotel”

We were happily surprised with the quality of the room and common areas at the Hillcrest. It is a lovely old rectory with a well-kept back garden (next to a large city park) on a quiet back street. The historic district is a short 10-15 minute walk uphill from the hotel. The breakfast was good and filling and well-prepared.

The rooms themselves are larger than average British hotel rooms with lots of storage space. Granted, we had a family room. The small single another in our party had was a bit like a large pullman car, but perfectly acceptable.

I recommend the Hillcrest to anyone at all, except those who have difficulty with stairs: there is no elevator.
