Lincoln Christmas Market is a great way to get yourself ready for the festive season.
Get to the top of High Hill - well named! - and start your wanderings with a quick gluhwien - german mulled wine. Then take your time wandering round the huge market and fair.
The town's links with their twin town in Germany means there are plenty of opportunities to try out some new snacks, and plenty of places to get more mulled wine, cider and mince pies.
It can gt crowded, and there is a one way system in place to keep people moving. Sometimes you can have a bit of a struggle to see popular stalls, but it's worth it.
And when evening falls and the Cathedral is lit up, the atmosphere takes a turn for the magical.
Thoroughly recommended, Just make sure to wear good walking shoes ...
