My partner & i travelled to the Hotel for a business meeting, it took us over 5 hours to drive there, the last thing we needed was to be booked into a room directly over a wedding Reception/Disco!!!
We dined to an average meal in the restaurant, after being apologized to by the waitress ..." sorry we're a bit behind tonight because there is a Wedding". i take it that that means all other hotel guests should suffer because of this?
We retired weary and travel tired to our room at 11pm, the decor reminisant of a blackpool b&b in the 1970's, the bathroom window covered in mould and dare i otter the words "net curtains". the Mfi furniture literally jumped around the room, including us in bed, to the volume of the disco music being played below. we rang reception, they told us all other rooms were full but would make a note of our call, we told them we were not going to pay, the Birdie song Karma chameleon/baggy trousers went on untill 1:10am, we had to travel back later that day. Breakfast was a sorry affair, no welcome hardly any food left on the self service, no staff ....very poor.
We made our feelings known at reception but were insulted and bullied into paying over £100 for all of the above.
Thanks very much Golf Hotel for nothing ...we will be contacting the AA to find out when and why they awarded this hotel 3 stars.
Take our advice.....book elsewhere it will be more pleasant and a lot less hassle.

This is for tripadvisor HQW! I paid £180 to stay here and that was for a bog standard room on valentines last year!! when we got there the door was wide open and the bed wasnt made!? my guess is the cleaner jacked in her job realising its impossilbe to get the dump nearly clean! i complained and got upgraded to the room you described "delux" or whatever they call it! Your description was spot on...run down, old badly run, dump, only butlins at bognor regis is worse. Believe me DO NOT GO HERE!

This is good value, £60 ish B&B
My room was well decorated and had a smart bathroom, but the room was cold. No heated towel rail either. Fortunately there was an extra blanket in the wardrobe, but when a colleague questioned the temp. she was told that the heating wasn't on yet! 17th Oct....
Bar food was good and inexpensive, big Tv in the lounge if you like football. Breakfast fine- but dining room could have been arranged better - cereals miles away from the fruitjuice table, odd.
Fine for a night or two or on business, but no longer.
Convenient to visit places in the area such as the BBMF.

    • Liked — not like a travelodge. Attractive old building. Woodhall is quiet small town/village ok to visit Lincoln too.
    • Disliked — Cold room ,and we finished our main course and couldn't have a pud as chef had gone home.
    • Any tips/secrets for future travellers? — Visit the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. 2007 is their 50th Ann.

Gosh... where do I start? I could rant on and on and on... but I'll try not to. Arrived 5 minutes prior to check in time so the receptionist was not happy and had to phone to see if our room would be ready! Booked a deluxe room, number 103. Blimey! We just sat on the bed and laughed! Dirty, dreary, fusty smelling with an awful bathroom, TV on the blink, so were the dirty taps and mildewy shower head, cigarette burns all over the carpet the list is endless. Reminded my husband of a 1960's boarding house bedroom. And a bad one at that.
The whole hotel is the same. They just cannot charge the prices they do. £110 per night for our room. Absolutely scandalous. Please, please before you book, think twice. If anyone has stayed in this room, I would love to know what they think.

“Time Warp”

Golf Hotel

I’d forgotten hotels like this existed. Shabby, tired and gloomy – and that was just the public areas. Our room had worn-out furniture, cracked and crumbling window frames (as another reviewer noted), a tiny bathroom with faded lino on the floor. In short, the place needs a major rehaul. What was truly shocking (apart from the price - £85) was that it was full. Given the number of golfers around and the fact that there’s almost no competition locally (The Petwood is far better, but more expensive), the Golf is one of those dreadful hotels that limps on and on, never improving, never getting so abysmally bad that no-one will stay there, just continuing to make money for its owners who clearly see no point in channelling any of it back into the hotel. The one positive thought we took away was that there was a time, and not that long ago, when most provincial hotels in the UK were like this one. Times have changed, thank God.
