A Perfect Location from which to explore lincoln. Within touching distance of the cathedral and bailgate. Myself and my partner found the hotel excellent, the staff attentive and the whole experience to be relaxing. Lincoln itself is a beautiful city to visit.

Charlotte House Hotel

we had an enjoyable stay, our room was of a high standard, very clean and the bathroom was excellent with quality shower and huge bath. staff were friendly and attentive. our breakfast, although dissapointed it was not included in the price, was very very good!
many shops and restaurants are within a 10 minute walk.
the only down side to our stay was on our second night (saturday) the bar below was open til 1 am. below our window was the courtyard were revellers stood for a smoke. it was VERY noisy and difficult to sleep until 1.30 when the noise died down.
we wanted a nice relaxing night and a good sleep but saturday night obviously was not a good night to do this.
our room was no.1 parnell suite, so i would just recommend a room in another part of the building.
it was the only problem, everything else was great.

“Well located but expensive and certainly not a 5* experience”

Charlotte House Hotel

18 Apr 2008

My wife and I stayed at Charlotte House for two nights in February 2008. We enjoyed our stay and the location of this jotel is superb for access to old Lincoln. However, we do have a number of comments on the hotel which is certainly not 5* rated. All the publicity makes a fuss about it being 5* and the brochure has an AA logo at the bottom. However, the AA tell us that this accommodation is not AA 5* listed but they have applied for inspection. The publicity is very misleading. We were surprised by several unexpected omissions.

• The bedroom had no paper tissues, no facecloths, no information on Lincoln, no pen or simple stationery.
• There were no comfortable or easy chairs in the bedroom and nowhere to place a suitcase.

When we arrived at about 3.15 pm we were told that our room was not quite ready. That was not a problem and the receptionist arranged for us to have a coffee but unfortunately your lounge was already occupied by a commercial group who were listening to a lecture. As a result we had to wait in the bar but the commercial group then complained that we were a distraction and so we were moved elsewhere to one of your breakfast tables. Guest should have access to the lounge and bar. At the very least the hotel should provide comfortable seating in the bar area and have a door placed between this area and the lounge.

We were also rather surprised at the policy of charging a fixed price for breakfast. This is reasonable for a full breakfast but very unreasonable for the very simple breakfast of coffee, toast and cereal. There was no fresh fruit, choice of bakery items or yoghurt.

Unfortunately this hotel has not even had the courtesy to acknowledge our letter making the above points. We have taken up the matter of 5* rating with the AA.

“Don't be fooled by the misleading adverts”

Charlotte House Hotel

24 Mar 2008

Don't be fooled by the web site or some of the publicity that has heralded this a five star hotel. The truth is this hotel is yet to get a star rating from the AA. There may even be questions about whether the publicity is actually a breach of trading descriptions. Although the hotel itself may have decided it is five star, the reality of the hotel experience there is very different. Nice rooms, amateur staff, skips viewable from the window, shoddily dressed servers - nothing about this appears to be the spirit of five star As stated elsewhere, a nice guest house, but overpriced and definitely not five star
