“Central but rooms can be noisy”

Radisson Edwardian Marlborough

On arriving for a one night stay I realised that I had stayed in the Radisson on the opposite side of the road previously and experienced a night of little sleep due to traffic. And that's exactly what happened in this sister hotel on what is a busy traffic junction just down from Oxford Street and Tottenham Court road.

The hotel is undergoing an overdue renovation to what are tired looking rooms. Indeed the renovation work was the reason given by reception to my colleague who found two uninvited cockroaches in the bathroom of his room albeit he was on the 6th floor.

Hoping that his find was an isolated incident but if you are looking to stay here then request a quiet room.

Upon arrival their systems were down so we all had to be individually brought to our rooms by one of the hotel staff so they could let us in to our rooms with their master key card. We were a large group of people so this took some time. Rooms were clean and bathroom were clean. One of the lifts were out of service. The drinks at the bar were so expensive 8.50 for 1 vodka & Lemonade. The next morning at 8.45am a male member of staff entered our room in error, he walked straight back out of the room closing the door. I complained the next morning when I was checking out and all I got was sorry about that. And they kept insisting that it was the cleaning staff, but as I explained to them that it wasn't as the man was in a suit???? The rest of my colleagues that stead their the same night every single one of them said that room service knocked on there door at 9am in the morning and some came into their room. What was that all about I don't know as check-out was 11am. There are renovations going on the outside of the building so this was very noisy in the morning. (I know this can't be helped if they are trying to do up the hotel)

Over all for the price that they charge I wouldn't stay here to be honest unless you double lock your door and expect to be woken up early in the morning.

I stayed for 3 nights at the beginning of December. The first room, I was given, located on the 2nd floor, was very small and the window was nailed because of renovations, while the towel rail was not in working order. The second room, located on the 6th floor was also small and the plaster was coming of the ceiling. The central heating was not working properly and after midnight the room was really cold. One of the two elevators was not working and the one working had problems. The staff was helpful and the breakfast buffet was adequate

Radisson Edwardian Marlborough

I have been blessed in having the opportunity to travel and stay in hotels all over the world. The Radisson Marlborough is probably the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. My room, #128 was the size of a small closet, the bed & mattress were so old and worn that it was impossible to get comfortable. The shower leaked into the bathroom floor. The 17" screen TV is a least 20 years old....

The staff is indifferent at best, often rude and take little or no pride in the establishment that they work at. Maybe the most telling thing about the Marlborough is that it isn't clean or well maintained. This place is a disgrace to the name Radisson.

Traveler's beware

booked this via lastminute.com top secret hotels as a surprise weekend in london....actually ended up paying MORE than the radisson website!!!! i phoned up the hotel before to make sure the room would be ready as it was a surprise...when i arrived at 3.30pm (half hour after check in) the room STILL wasnt ready! a simple apology made and i was told to wait an hour! i kicked up a fuss and after about 15 mins i was allocated another room!!! the size of the room was good....that was the only plus point! the rooms were SOOOO stuffy! old fashioned windows only opended a fraction...and the bed was terrible!!!! u could feel the srpings through the matteres!i'd booked a deluxe room and we were given no slippers or bathrobe! the heated towle rail did not work either!!!! for £180 this was a RIP OFF!!!!!
