There is a really great energy in the air at Piccadilly Circus. Perhaps it's the hustle-and-bustle of everyone seeing to be seen or the electricity from the garish billboards (which make a great juxtaposition with the Victorian buildings); whatever it is, it makes for one of the top spots in the world to just observe human behaviour.

I was expecting Times Square but Pic Circus was smaller than I thought. But it's still a great visit. I specifically go here just to shoot the red bus moving with all the lights on the background.

I live in a rural part of Ireland and to visit Picadilly Circus at midnight on a monday night in October, was a site to be seen. Shops all open to 12am - in Ireland, shops are more likely to open at 12pm - 6pm...
The crowds of people around that time were unreal - there was a queue to a nightclub about 1/2 mile long..
Great place to experience atmosphere.

If you are a tourist and short of time, dont waste it specifically seeking out P C! theres nothing to see but a bit of neon and some restaurants you could find anywhere! there is nothing here to represent london and it's culture. Last time i went i noticed most of the eateries (if any) werent english, so what's the point? you could be anywhere..the place has no soul. its just a place to pass through on route to others...seek out Soho, covent garden,
camden lock or the east end for more authentic experiences..
