I was so so excited about visiting the London Dungeon and was quite disappointed - no way is this experience worth £20.

The London Dungeons (if you don't know - I didn't) is like a walk through tour of the history of London. To me, this seemed like a load of people, dressed up as Doctors, Monks and plague victims trying to fob you off onto the next 'actor.' You learn little about London and the effects aren't that great.

The 2 "rides" are less than impressive and although I enjoyed some bits, I wouldn't do it again.

“Absolutely dreadful - they have ruined this!”

London Dungeon

30 May 2008

Long queues, far too dark, smelly, no entertainment/educational value whatsoever and extremely claustrophobic. After waiting for ages, in cramped, dingy conditions, the horrific mirrored maze was the final straw! My sons and I left. We've never been so pleased to see daylight. The dungeons used to be worth a visit, but no longer! London is a fantastic place, find something more worthwhile to do with your time!

After 2 hours of travelling and 2 hours of standing outside in the rain, waiting to get in. I was a bit let down with this atraction. It had badly made up actors who were a little bit over the top,it was very hot and smelly. It was ok, but not worth anywhere near what we paid to get in, after 15mins my partner was looking for a way out. But Ive got to say my 13 year old was terrified, it did make me jump in places and the extremis was excellent. But still think it should be half the price.

London, England, you can visit a billion times in a lifetime and yet not be able to experience everything there! Therefore I would like to guide you into this chamber of horror that I am sure you do not want to miss! That is - if you're not easily scared... You might think this is not a romantic place to be with a partner but then you could not be more mistaken! Having your girlfriend, or boyfriend for that matter, close to you on a horror tour that takes about an hour is not a bad way to spend your staying in London. And of course going there with friends, you can have lots of fun too. But don't be too cocky in there - you'll never know when someone sneaks up to YOU! Enjoy!

I went to the London Dungeons with my partner, Saturday just gone.
It was soo much fun!!! - Although like alot of the reviews people having to wait- we arrived early before they opened before 10am and only ended up waiting for 15mins.
Thankfully for us- we used Walkers Brit Trips voucher which allowed us to get in for half price £10!! which certainly made the trip more worth the money.Generally i do think that paying £20 each to go on this tour is quite alot, so if you can find a way of making it cheaper do it!!.
Once inside it is rather dark in places, and it begins with an actor taking you through into his room -which then leads you into a room full of mirrors!! be warned you can seriously loose your sense of orientation in this place - but you are saved by another actor who takes you through Victorian London, beware of water being squirted at you!! You are then in a room which is supposed to be like a back-street surgery which this part is quite funny!! and there is some group participation involved.
This also continues in the next room and also when you meet the Judge which was another highlight, highly amusing. The actor playing the judge was great and played along if you answered back...
Then you have the boat ride and then on the Mrs Lovett and Sweeney todd - This room it pitch black so if you are afraid of the dark, you will be scared (you don't acutally get to meet sweeney todd though). Then you have Jack the Ripper in the pub scene which was played out very well and the Fire of London Room which was not at all scary just made me cough with all the smoke from the smoke machines. And the Extremis ride at the end which is a free fall ride is brilliant. and don't believe them when they say it goes up-side down, it doesn't.

Overall it was a great tour lasting hour and 30 mins and the actors were amazing, probably because they didn't have to repeat their lines for the hundreth time that day. Most enjoyable if you are going to go, just make it a once in a lifetime experience.
