Booked a twin room with hotel website ...paid extra to include breakfast.

On arrival very impressed by chic and elegant lobby and communal spaces...but had to wait an hour and a half for our room....FINALLY got our room around 2.30pm...well after advertised check in time.

Room: Disasterous!!! disgusting! Given room 147 on 1st floor. Carpet stained..very small space. Large wall heater with MOLD above it and papered over, but mold coming through. Wallpaper stained and ripped. Door in room with no lock and partially opened led to large boiler and pipes, dirty and dusty ..bathroom so small, could not close door properly if you wanted to sit on toilet. bath was old and generally grubby looking. Called front desk to tell them room totally unacceptable. Told orignally that NO OTHER rooms available...went down to complain to front desk and told , Yes, ok they would give me another room...given room 437 on 4th floor. Was also a twin room, this wasa larger room than twin on 1st floor and was more updated , bathroom was a little bigger BUT, wood panel incasing bath was old and badly painted over with a couple of holes in it. The heating did not work in the room, so 1st night wore extra clothes to bed, had to ask front desk for a second pillow, there were no extra blankets in the room. Next day, maintenance said he fixed the heating, it worked for less than 5 mins after he was gone and then did not work again. Told front desk this again on checking out next day.

Breaksfast was good, nice selection on the buffet. We had paid the extra for a full english breakfast but that wasnt great [17 GB pounds if you dont pre book and pay for your breakfast] . If I had known I would have just stuck with the 'continentel' breakfast as there is a big selection, various cereals, croissants, ham, cheeses, fruits, jams, yogurts etc.

Would not stay at this hotel again as rooms are terrible and do not match the opulence of the lobby and public areas. There is a Holiday in just a few doors away, and I bet money wise its cheaper than this hotel. This was not good value for money even though I got a good rate.

We have just returned from a stay at the Clifton Ford and were very pleased with our choice. Good service, concierge, reception, bar/bistro at 108 Marylebone Place which we sampled, all very 4 star. Guests appeared to be mainly tourists and mostly American.

We were not expecting much as had booked a very reasonably priced overnighter with Superbreaks to see the Chinese Terracotta Warrior/Tutenkhamun exhibitions in London, but the value for money was great. Our room was no 485, partly refurbished possibly as everything was fine except for the old bath panel and a bit of mould on the bath - both of which could easily be put right - but apart from that it was fine. Large bed, big flat screen tv, mini bar, fine size wise. My husband found the humm noise from the air conditioning plant outside annoying but you are in a noisy city and it didn't bother me.

Location superb, a nice part of London around Marylebone Lane and so close to everything. Recommended.

“Excellent stay, but request a refurbished room !”

Just returned from an excellent stay at the Jury's Clifton Ford Hotel in London. The hotel is superbly located, being about 5/10 mins walk off Oxford Street.

Having seen other reviews, I was initially wary and requested a refurbished room for my 2 night stay with my wife. The check in desk allocated a room to me in the morning, although it wasn't available until after 2pm.

We ended up on the 4th floor (424) and the room was clean & tidy & was Ok space wise. A comfortable double bed & LCD TV was installed and the bathroom, although small was fine. Although we were opposite the lift, we weren't disturbed by noise from other guests.

We booked Bed & Breakfast & I'd recommend others to book breakfast in advance, it costs £18 per person otherwise. The service was good and we had no problems getting our meal.

The VirginActive gym looked great ( thats about as close as I got) and the pool / sauna / steam room where good too, not too busy.

All in all, if you're looking for a modestly priced London break close to everything in a 4* hotel with a pool (pretty rare in London), I'd recommend the Clifton Ford.

Just came back from a weekend away in London. Stayed at Jurys Clifton Ford for 2 nights. After reading some reviews on the rooms I was abit hesitant about staying here and made sure to request a refurbished room. On check- in we were allocated a room on the 4th floor 449??? The room was dark and depressing, both the bathroom and closet doors didnt close, the double bed only had room on one side to get on. In addition our tiny TV on the floor didnt seem to work either. If this was a refurbished room I dont want to know what it was before, Requested a room move, which they did. Was given another room on the 5th floor. This room was much bigger and had plenty of natural light. But the decor was just the same, old and tired. All in all I would not reccomend this hotel, they have spent all their money on refurbishing the ground floor which is amazing, and left nothing for their rooms. If they have refurbished their rooms i certainly was not allocated one.

This was our first visit to London and we were greeted with a pleasant reception at the Jurys Clifton which set the tone for the rest of our trip.

My wife and I arrived a day late due to plane problems so we missed our scheduled day tour and the reception gladly helped us plan out our day on our own.

The location is in an excellent area within walking distance of Oxford and the main terminal for the open top bus tours.

Also, they were doing renovations the second night we were there and the staff were very friendly and helpful throughout the whole visit.
