We arrived at the Hotel early in the morning for our two-day stay in London before going to Southampton to depart on a 12 day cruise. We were informed that check in was in the afternoon, however, we were asked to be seated "to see what they could do". We were soon notified that our rooms were ready and we were sooooooo happy!! The hotel is very, very nice, lovely accommodations, very clean and modern, great restaurant, bar and pub, lovely lobby and EXCELLENT STAFF. First we were attended to by Mr. Slawek who was professional, efficient, polite and just lovely. Then Ms. Liliana De Silva, who was just as nice, sweet, efficient and professional. They even explained how to get to and from the city. We took off to the city, on the bus, which stops right in front of the hotel; you do not even have to cross the street. We toured the very majestic city and enjoyed it immensely. Unfortunately, one of our friends had an accident while in the city and was taken to St Mary's Hospital. My husband and I returned to the hotel and needless to say, we were devastated. The support and empathy we received at the hotel from the staff and even strangers at the bar was incredible...........You Brits are truly great, warm people!!! The following day upon learning that even though our friend had two hip fractures, she did not need surgery, therefore, she would be transported back home. We had dinner at the restaurant and drinks at the pub and both were great! My husband and I took off to Southampton for our cruise. The hotel recommended a gentleman named Alan that works out of the hotel lobby and provides transportation. It was such a great pleasure coordinating our transportation to and from Southampton with him. He is very professional, polite and a bit of a historian, therefore, he provided much information on your very beautiful country. We felt very secure with Alan and he is an excellent, family oriented, person. On our return we needed to stay in London overnight for an early morning flight and I had made reservations at a hotel within the Heathrow airport. However, Alan brought to my attention that even though we would be in the airport vicinity, we would need a taxi to the terminal. He pointed out that if we went back to the Crown Moran Hotel between the hotel and what he would charge us to take us to Heathrow, it would be much cheaper, and he was right. So back we went to the Crown Moran. When we came back it was like coming home to the family, everyone was happy to see us again, especially, Ms. Liliana. We were having dinner in the bar, which was very nice, and she came over to greet us! She made us feel like a million dollars! She asked if we would be having breakfast with them on the following morning. I responded no because Alan was picking us up at 6:15 a.m. and breakfast started at 6:30 a.m. When we checked out on the following morning and were ready to go, out comes the front desk person with two mini shopping bags with breakfast and a beautiful fresh flower.......sent by Ms. Liliana compliments of the Crown Moran! We are seasoned travelers and this type of thing does not happen in many places. We want to re-visit London and I know where we will stay and who will be transporting us. When we arrived at the airport, Alan decided to park the car, help us with our luggage and took us directly to the American Airlines counter!!!!! What service!!!!! Our most sincere appreciation to these wonderful people and to the Crown Moran for an excellent experience. By the way, our friend is in a rehabilitation facility and recuperating very nicely. THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
