We stayed here for two nights on a short break in London. Normally I book brand hotels as I really enjoy 'the hotel experience' That experience at The Seven Dials is different. Our room ( and I use the term loosely) resembled a cupboard we have at home. Fortunately my wife and I still get on well together and were therefore able to syncronize our movements around the 7 sq. metres we were allocated. Within our 'cupboard' we found another one - a shower room (2.5 sq m) The furniture was a collection of random items - ex MFI wardrobe, which I dare not open, lest it collapse; a desk which accommodated our 12 inch Alba TV and a kettle (noce touch) The shower room was adequate, esp if you are vertically challenged. Plenty of towels, but nowhere to hang them other than one small rail. Our room was on the third floor and the journey there reminded me of the stairs in my gran's old house - no lift and not good if you have mobility problems.
One the positive side, the location is fantastic - just off Covent Garden and Theatreland, its ideal. The included breakfast was a bit ' greasy spoon' but very adequate and the staff all very friendly and helpful. As a Grumpy Old Man I now find everywhere expensive and actually think 128 GBP per night for this hotel is a bit much. However, I know for London this is cheap and though the room was tatty it was at least clean tat and housekeeping obviously work very hard to keep the place clean.
If you just want a bed for the night after the theatre, this is the hotel for you. If you are looking for a hotel experience and that little bit of glam, go elsewhere.

Room tip: They also have a new annex which is just finished - apparently nice, but a short hike. I think all rooms are pokey, but maybe on the front they have a bit of a view - the back is rooftops, courtyards and extracter fans.

Stayed 2 nights for mix of work and leisure. Excellent location for access to tubes to various parts of London. Walking distance to loads of theatres. Felt very safe. Choice of two rooms offered, which was nice. Picked ground floor room which was next to reception and although small and slightly unusual shape, it was cosy and quiet, being away from the side with he noisy street life. Decor may be a little tired, but it has character, and for the price, it is the best place I have stayed in London. Why pay more when you only probably will use the room to sleep and shower. Staff welcoming and friendly. Breakfast basic but plentiful and nice to be included in the price when you see what London prices can be like. I would highly recommend is place to anyone who is happy with good basic clean friendly accommodation without frills. Only slight niggle was that bed was not a full sized double. Ok for me as alone, but if you were a larger couple you may be disappointed. Will look out for availability when next visiting London.

Room tip: Ground floor little room by reception felt very safe even as a solo female traveller.

We really like the Seven Dials area of London, with its interesting shops, cafes and pubs. I have been so close so often and we have the hotel named after this charming corner of London to thank for discovering it . We took in two shows during our weekend away, and the hotel location was perfect for this.
The hotel is clean and our room, though not large, was decorated in a light, neutral colour that helped to make up for the lack of light. It is run with a view to economy which may be sensible, but does take the edge off the welcome. The reception is supposed to be manned at all times, but when we arrived we couldn't get an answer and ended up going for a coffee across the road. The staff are mostly friendly, if busy, and if you mainly want a base handy for theatre land this is worth considering. Be warned, it's an old building. The stairs are steep and there's no lift.

Ok this is a little rough round the edges but it's clean & friendly. It's in a really lovely street with lots of coffee shops & if you are going to the theatre then you are 5 mins from most. China town & Soho only a few mins walk. We walked to Trafalgar Square in 10 mins as well.
Breakfast is basic but ok & self service.
On the whole good value for London if you don't mind it not being perfect.

We booked this place for a short stay in London and you cannot beat it for location and price. The room itself was small and the mattress not very comfortable but as we were realistic when we booked the place so we did not mind and we out most of the time. We had the breakfast and was pretty basic, but all in all we were happy with our stay.
