I booked late and found a single room at this hotel.
On the plus side, it is very near a tube station, and also a bus stop that takes you to Marble Arch and Oxford Street in less than five minutes. It is also in a quiet road, but very near a busier road with eating facilities and small shops. Excellent location for central London, especially for the price. The room was fine once I found it: there seems to be stairs all over the place to mid-levels, so without anyone guiding me it took me a while to locate the room, which was at the back.
Breakfast was adequate, nothing cooked, but croissants, toast, boiled eggs, cheese, butter, jams and cereals wered all amply available. Tea or coffee and juices too.
On the down side, no air conditioning in the room. This is usually fine in England but it was warm that night. The TV didn't work immediately, but sorted itself out.
Tea and coffee making facilities in the room were very disappointing: one tea bag, two coffee sachets, two tiny milk cartons and some sugar. I usually expect several tea bags (of different types of tea), milk cartons and sugar, so that I can make more than one cup during the evening/early morning. They could definitely improve on this.
Generally, it's quiet, spooky almost (I stayed on a Saturday evening) and the room was fine and a decent size for a single with en-suite toilet and shower. The carpets throughout the hotel have seen better days, but for the excellent location one can overlook that.
Bring your own tea bags, milk and sugar!
